Yeah, it definitely takes a certain kind of voice to be a good commentator. The guy on the radio earlier (BBC) is always OK, nothing more, until the final 5 minutes, when he has this way of making you shite yourself by commentating on everything as if it's a last minute one-on-one in the FA Cup final. Makes for edge of the seat stuff. The girlie just didn't have the balls (obviously) to do it. Her voice added nothing to the match. If anything, it made it worse.

Co-commentator for the Stoke vs Watford game earlier (for the first 15 minutes that I watched) had about as much football knowledge as a mole. Nothing more irritating that listening to some **** spouting shite like that.

I'm glad it's not just me, that guy is a good commentator but made me shit myself every time a City player touched the ball in the last ten minutes, and he started screaming like a manic at every pass, I was convinced they'd scored about six times.

Actually, he and Bradley Allen are my favourite commentary team, but he does get carried away a bit. I felt absolutely exhausted when the final whistle went. But I love the way he lays into refs and linesmen.

Bradley Allen is just down-to-earth common sense, and drops the odd bit of ITK too.

But Sally Jockstrap or whatever her name is… I don't know that she really is any worse than the worst male commentators (that nut job Stuart Hall?), but the shrill jolly-hockey-sticks voice is just too much.

I cannot stand her, she's been doing it all season though, it just doesn't sound right.

The more I think about his commentary, the more I like it :) Wonder if he would be able to transfer it over to the TV

She sucks, it's just another politically correct move by the BEEB to endorse it's status as the biggest money wasting government machine, (NHS aside of course).

People should get jobs based on their ability to perform the job, not 'cos they have tits, are black, disabled or a monority of some sort....

Time will tell eh

It's quite funny, because I remember the papers making such a fuss about it, and I thought "Christ! It's the 21st Century. We've had a woman Prime Minister. Why on Earth is anyone making such a big deal about a female football commentator!"

And then I watched MotD. And she was awful sounding. She didn't say anything wrong at all, it's just that when she got excited her voice rose to a pitch that only dogs can hear. It was like John Motson on helium. It's not her fault - she did nothing wrong, but it sounded bloody terrible.
