My ratings are:
Robinson -5 one good save the rest of the game he spent hoofing the ball up the field as usual. He threw the ball to a defender once and we actually went on the attack (lennon should heve done better BTW) does he not understand that this tactic works?

Chimbo - 6 tried hard

Dawson - 6 His best performance this season but still weak

Lee - 5 worked hard but poor final product

Kabul - 5 out of position he is NOT a centre back, crap today!

Malbranque - 5 lost his way in the second half

Lennon -6 worked very hard, final product poor

KPB - 6 good work although never made a killing pass

Bent -6 chased everything but other than his goal (a rocket) never looked like causing a problem

Defoe - 5 had a few moments but nothing that would make me pick him in the first 11 next game

Berbs - 4 poor but hard when you come off the bench in a rank performance like this. Not interested in hard graft IMO

Keane - 5 tried hard but never looked like making a difference

Zokora - 5 never made any impact at all, KPB should have stayed on.

In summary a crap performance against a v poor team.

Hmmm, you forgot Jenas, unless you thought he was so crap that he didn't warrant mentioning...???

Oh yeh, he was there, sorry!
Hmm, I would rate him a 4. He worked hard to defend (mostly because he lost the ball!) but going forward never did for me, his passing was woeful, again!

I watched the Manu/Arse game earlier and it was like two leagues difference in the pace, technical ability, vision and teamwork.

We have a long way to go to get anywhere near these teams for consistency.

Starting XI:
Robinson 6 - no chance to stop the goal
Chimbonda 6.5 - improved recently
Lee 5.5 - wasting of time
Kaboul 6
Dawson 6.5 - fought well apart from his bad mistake
Jenas 7 -played well
Boateng 7 - good work
Malbranque 6 - good tackles but not effective in attacking !
Lennon 7
Defoe 6
Bent 7 - nice finish !

subs:
All 6 .. nothing special

Manager:
Ramos 7 Good starting XI, but if he shouldn't take Bent of, Malbranque wasn't good and Keane can replace him, Also Boateng deserved to stay rather than Malbranque, or not using Zokora at all.

Only saw Sky FF so can't really rate but some observations. 57% possesion and one shot on target ? You can just see the lack of confidence in the team. Chimbonda is such a casual fucker in defence he wants a sharp kick up the arse. Robinson nearly cost us a goal with a ludicrous flap in the first half and he really doesn't instill confidence in the back 4. Dawson nearly cost a goal second half and his constant kicking the ball to no-one is frustrating. Kaboul seemed to play OK and Lee seemed busy.

KPB looked lively and maybe should have been left on but it's hard to say for sure on highlights.

Bent scored but seems to offer little in the way of hold up play. he has no guile or vision, just pace and strength.

I think a confident side would have nailed a Boro side even less confident than us but today it was just not happening despite dominating possesion and limiting Boro to very little.

And as usual, the curse of the 30 yard screamer prevailed. Robinson is now 50 games without saving a shot from outside the box. At least we didn't concede from a set piece.

i think we played good, all players played so so , and i think there is one BIG REASON we didn`t win most of the matches , and this is the lack of creative passing from the midfielders for the strikers , we need quality crealtive playmaker really much

He saved a Rochemback shot from outside the box in the CC. There have probably been others. Strangely, we fail to remember them. Most of those he's failed to save would have beaten every other keeper in the EPL.

Probably just as well we didn't have Mido with a point to prove playing instead of the useless Aliadiere and the still more useless Wang Mi Dong.

Kaboul was caught out of position umpteen times. He and Dawson need to be strapped into dentists' chairs with their eyelids taped open and shown loops of Rio and Vidic, Carragher and Hyppia/Agger, any CB combo that works, until they get the general idea.

The central midfield was non-existent. Again. Chimbonda was, indeed, stunningly casual, left Robbo to clear balls he shouldn't have had to at least twice.

Welcome to Spurs, Juande.

so overall not impressve

No, but we did a job. Arguably, we should have done a better one, but a draw is better thn a poke in the eye with a burnt stick.

Beat Hapoel, beat the Wiggies, I'm sure we'll all be far happier.

One of my friends who watched both games live told me exactly the same...
I listened the game on Radio mainly as a background noise due to my relatives jumping around screaming for the PC so I1D rather not rate...:-|

The Robinson comment was a little tongue in cheek SS. Although only a little.

Personally I wouldn't have cared if Mido played. Dawson is far more comfortable with the ariel game than the one on the deck.

I don't know whether the midfield was non existant as I didn't see the whole game, but 57% possesion suggests that we were the team trying to play football and Boro were more content to contain.

I said this at the start of the season, but what worries me most about the summer was that we did not add any quality creativity to the squad. We can be so predictable going forward.

If I have a complaint about our buying policy, it is not the quality of player we have been buying, but the fact that we keep buying similar plyers (a failing of O'Leary's Leeds).

Bent offers nothing more than Defoe or Keane. We have a plethura of CB's of a similar ilk. Jenas, KPB & Ghaly are all similar, Zokora & Tainio are similar, malbranque and lennon.

I know we need a deep - 2 per position type - squad but we really needed to plug some holes this summer, defensively and creatively and we didn't.

Don't get me wrong, our squad is still probably 5/6/7th easily but we did not address issues properly this summer to radically inhance areas that were weak. An injury prone 17yo LB with a sweet left foot is the nearest we got.

We weren't that bad especially for Ramo's first game. We defended reasonably well and overally deserved a win more than they did.

Robbo-6 he was fine except the goal which he should have easily saved.

Chimbonda-5-not great
Dawson-7-decent
kaboul-5-not too much wrong but not that much to do really.
Lee.Y.P-5.5-got forward decently well but didn't defend brillaintly

Lennon-6.5- worked hard, created a bit, poor end product
KPB-6-decent debut looks fairly average though bit early to judge
Jenas-5.5- one good run into box with poor end prouduct, worked hard and did ok
Malbranque-5.5-did ok but wasn't anything special.

Bent-6.5-good goal but lacked service
Defoe-6-not bad

Subs were all average.

overall a completely average performance and we still looked comfortable until we conceded that wonder-goal and even after that we dominated possession, signs of improvement could do with a win and a new midfield

I only caught the second half of the extended highlights on Sky but I really have to say that Jenas was easily our best player, never lost the ball and was working very hard at closing down the opposition!
