Hi everyone ,

A friend of mine went to the champions league final ( Liverpool fan) and I asked him if he bought a match programme and he said “no” and didn’t appear to seem awfully fussed which I found astonishing. Albeit we live in Australia and getting to games is tough and you have to make the most of them , when I had a season ticket and when I got to games when I lived in England I purchased a programme home and away and still have them all and also kept paper tickets .

So my question is , how many of us buy the match programmes ? Do any of you not buy them but only buy them for a semi final or a final etc.

Are there fans on here like me who insist on going to a game and keep and collect the programmes , please post and include pics of your favourite or first / special programmes from spurs games also !

Last season I went to all the home games and about twenty away games. The only programme I bought was Newport away in the cup. I found one in the street after Juventus and home and one in the ground away to Arsenal. My mate went to final inKiev on a freebie and I asked him to get me a programme. So as you can see I've got no interest in modern day programmers.
However one of the old Spurs keepers had a sports shop near Romford market and there was a stall there which used to sell programmes. This is how I started collecting them in the early 80's and used to buy and sell them as well. At one point I had hundreds, mostly Spurs, but also European finals from the 60's and a few old Chelsea one's from the 50's. I stopped collecting them when they started getting full of advertising.

I also used to collect the paper tickets but only from away games in Europe

I wish I had kept more of them as some of them are very rare now.

I never got to games when i was a kid (well, once in a blue moon) but my grandparents bought me a subscription each year for a few years and had every home game programme posted to me, i loved it at the time, would cost a bloody fortune now.

I'd post a picture but i don't know where they are, i assume my parents loft has a box with 'Spurs programmes from the 90's' written on it next to 'Dad's special box- DO NOT OPEN', that or they got chucked away when i became a stroppy teenager.

I used to collect tickets and programmes, then they started getting battered because I’d stay out and they’d be in my pocket, end up on the floor etc. So I just stopped bothering. Can’t remember the last one I bought, they seem a bit of a relic now - well tickets are. I used to buy fanzines too - we have the internet now though.

I’ve got a stack of them from games i’ve been to, especially the big games.

My favourite is the Inter Milan one, where Bale tore Maicon to shreds. Amazing night and Harry’s little column at the front was always decent. I read it in his voice every time! :joyful:

I stopped a few seasons ago bar champions league/finals. I have a load of old ones I’ve got from my dad and I’ve kept a few from each season I’ve been for posterity. But likely I’ll keep a few rather than every one, just don’t have the space to store them. Music collection already in storage

My godfather left me a load when he passed away. 60/61 FA Cup final and a friendly at WHL between England and ze Germans. Worth a few quid now.

When ever I go to a game I buy a program. I just haven't been to a game in a few years now.

They're way too bulky nowadays, they repeat so much information that they could be a quarter of the size.

I'm moving home shortly so I've got home/away issues back to the double season and they're not easy to store, same with my records as I've over 5000 of them so just packing them up is a pain.
