I'm a Spurs fan living in Ireland, we relocated here from London during the 1970s but anyway to my point. I normally travel over at least 8 times per season to see us at WHL but unfortunately two years ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 blood & bone cancer and have now just gotten remission. The thing is now I don't think I will have enough points on my membership to get to a game at the New Stadium. So I'm stuck between going to Wembley to see the Fulham game or going to the test event on the same day. I've also not been to New Wembley but have been many many times to the Old Wembley. If anyone here that can help me make up my mind it would be greatly appreciated #COYS?❤

Jeannie Mac, so sorry to hear.

I'm in Ireland now but I spent about 58 years in England, boy and man, father and grandfather and never too far from WHL or even the old Wembley. That's where all my memories are from - probably 400 WHL visits and 8 Wembleys

I've not been to the new Wembley and I'm not in the slightest bit bothered about it either. My son and grandson have both been so the generation is continued in that respect.

Given the choice I think I would take a trip to the new Spurs home to take in the sights and do a mental map for myself. Having lived in South Tottenham/North London most of my life I know the area well enough although it has changed and will change over and over.

A mate of mine who died 4 years ago on the eve of the last WC final was given a fancy day out in a 'spare' box at the clubs expense for 10 people after some for our friends told the club about his situation - it was a lower level match but it proved to me the club has compassion in certain cases.

Maybe it will be worth a try if explained properly ?

Hoping

Home matches aren't done on loyalty points - only for a few games in our final season at WHL when the capacity was reduced. Normally it's just whoever buys them most quickly among members! So hopefully you can get to Wembley and a real home game too :) Congrats for kicking cancers sorry arse!!!

Thank you so much for your reply Jeannie. I'm also really sorry to hear about your friends passing. Chris who does the Stadium updates has informed me that I could go to the Fulham game and if I could get a ticket go to the test event at the new stadium the next day ❤

I'm Kev. Not Jeannie Mac, that's an expression I use like Jeepers or Jeezus .. LOL

So it sounds good on both locations - have fun travelling, they say Uber sucks.

Sorry about the name mix up buddy LOL I use Uber here in Ireland and they are pretty good but there are only a few driver's and I've gotten to know them all. I suppose in London it's going to be very different. I'm looking forward to seeing New Wembley and of course our New Stadium #COYS?❤

What have I missed about the test event? Didn't think anything was formalized yet?

Is it wrong I'd rather go to that than the Fulham game?

so glad to hear you've kicked Mr C, and really hope you stay healthy in the future.

really hope you get to see a good amount of the New stadium too, though myself the New Wembley would only feel special on the day of a cup final, not even semi's.

the use of Uber though a very sore point, they are slowly ruining the Taxi industry (I'm a taxi driver), and will eventually increase the unemployment in this country. the Uber drivers themselves have to work such stupid amount of hours to eventually earn a living (which at a gamble I'd also suggest 50% of them also avoid tax and claim benefits), and working those hours are putting their customers at risk. the thing is if Uber could get away with it, and if it ever becomes official, they will be the 1st to use driverless cars.

They've give approximate dates, but they are still subject to change, and we don't know what the events are or what the ticketing process will be (we probably won't have full capacity for the first couple which complicates it). However, I'd say it's very unlikely they'll clash with matches, unless we decide to e.g. show the United away game on the big screens
