2days ago someone asked him about Kovacic and he said spurs have been interested in him since his zagreb days,didn't make a move for him last summer,and also says would be great addition if we went for him.

Going back to page 8, he was quoted as saying there was no interest 'as far as he knew'. Also says on his rolling transfer update that we did not even bid last summer despite all the links and longstanding interest.

Things could easily have changed in the last week or so however.

Makes so much sense for us to bid for him, especially if we don't plan on ditching the double pivot completely.

I think we might struggle to compete with the Italian clubs in terms of draw however.

Luka seems to still have a lot of fondness for Spurs so it would be a massive boost for us if he were having a word in his ear at the World Cup and Real Madrid when they get back.

As far as ITK this could be a scenario where they would like to keep quiet with the profile of the player and the deal. Not saying thats for sure whats happening but it could definitely be a possibility. I find it hard to believe we would have zero interest in the player however.

I'd imagine that Madrid probably have the most media coverage in the world so I'd imagine theres some outlet stirring up something at all times. Agreed though as there will be competition so will take Levys best skills and that good ol exclusive negotiating clause he pulled out a couple times last summer if I remember correctly.

I can't honestly imagine just not being interested at all in a player of his calibre that seems semi-achievable.

Think he said a deal was in place for a player from abroad if we want it. That, to me, says a player who isn't up the top of the 'wanted' list but one who would be a fall back option, otherwise we would get it tied up.
