Well if nobody reputable has picked up this official transfer request by now I assume there's nothing in it.

Interesting info. FYI is talking Marcos Llorente who is a talented, young CM.

Where has this City talk come from? Pep is claiming they don’t need another midfielder and if he did want one I don’t think Kovacic would be first on his list when players like Thiago, Pjanic, even Vidal are apparently available.

United, Bayern, Juve, even Chelsea scare me more - that is if we are even in for him.
If lad from Dortmund Weigl is fit in time that's who City Will Go for..if not Lemina Soton ..+ 1 biggy that will leave everyone with their mouth open if they can pull it off

We haven’t even had a whiff of a credible link to this fella, poch may not rate or want him for all we know and then there’s the money it would take to get him!!

Praying Rebrab’s info is about Kovacic, he’s exactly what we need and if we only got him this window, I’d be happy.

I’m still not convinced he is that special. He runs well with the ball through the middle but whenever I’ve seen him play he seems to make poor decisions, runs into trouble or doesn’t link the play well enough for a player that is looking to start at Real Madrid. The talent is there but I don’t think he would transform us into a title winning side.

It’s really hard to find the right player to really move us forward.

Not to mention the fact he's been a bit part player for 3 seasons. Don't think he's the absolute slam dunk some are making out but he's an extremely talented footballer and one of the best on the market this summer so I hope we go for it.

Still seeing absolutely nothing other than people-on-here's wishful thinking that Spurs are even casting glances in Kovacic's direction, let alone making an attempt to sign him.

Guess work really:-

1. Rebrab said news on the main CM target should arrive early this week, news broke yesterday he told Madrid he wants out.

2. Grey Fox posted about the rumoured transfer request, could be posting as a fan but maybe he knew he was a target.

3. We have a longstanding interest, he is available and we are in the market for a CM to replace Dembele. Marca credited us with an interest during the WC.

Probably all unrelated and it's Andre Gomes but you can see the logic.

I agree the talent is definitely there. He seems more like someone that Poch could work with and improve. There is 100% a great player in there I just think the hype is maybe a little high.

To be fair, being kept out of the team by Kroos and Modric shouldn't be something that can be held against him.

That's fair enough, but it has meant he has not been able to get any rhythm of consistency in his game for almost 3 years now. That makes it a bit of a risk for sure.

Saw this quote on twitter from a Chelsea fan:

"Spurs are such a weird club, they are good as a team but just lack the extra edge which is why they always end up trophyless. A few top class signings would fix them but they always sleep in transfer windows."

Kovacic dictating the pace of the game would allow us to step up and be able to better control these big games.

Not sure why a random Chelsea fan's opinion on Twitter matters?
