Maybe it's partly down to the fact that this has been an appalling window and there isn't much going on.

They definitely use them to whip up a frenzy when trying to unsettle players/managers, which that falls under.

A big exclusive talking about a supposedly done deal (which makes sense for Madrid) doesn't look like something to dismiss IMHO.

Yes, and with my optimistic hat on, I wouldn’t put it past them to leak that to force us to improve our bid even if Chelski aren’t really in the mix.
