Same, and maybe that was partly down to the Real Madrid glamour, but he seems to be on the verge of kicking on and needs a club like us, so I got my hopes up.

I really don't know if it'll be worse to hear we never wanted him, or Chelsea just got in ahead of us. A loan doesn't do anyone much good, I guess, as Madrid probably get him back, with more experience and ready to take over from Modric... but I'd love to see this guy play for us.

Maybe next summer, if Chelsea can screw up the loan and drive his price down a bit more...

Actually he didn't really show anything whenever he came on in the WC. I thought being in Canada and not following much on the European scene, I might have missed something.

I know RM have offered it as a sweetener, and they have definitely accepted Courtois is on his way, but not seen anything to say Kovacic is definitely going the other way (though the Chav's most probably know of our interest and will accept it anyway)

Real have all the leverage in that deal, why would they loan them Kovacic? Courtouis has made it clear he will walk on a free if they don't sell him to Real right now.

At some point they might want to come in for Hazard. Doesn't make a lot of sense to piss Chelsea off when they dont have to.

I think that point has been ever since the world cup was over, has yet to be seen if Chelsea would even consider a realistic figure. If they can bring in Fekir and Kovacic to offset that loss I still see them as a really dangerous team.

Really disappointing if we miss out on both Kovacic and Zaha. Even more if they both end up at the bridge. Previous ITK seemed to suggest that does “Willian days” where over... guess not.

At least I hope Poch in some way is on board with the decision of not paying the asking price...
