I think what this window has demonstrated, amongst other things about our true financial position, is how little it actually means in reality that we are in the Champions League. . All the fuss about having to get top 4 to be able to buy the best , but top players are happily signing for non CL teams. It may possibly help retain current players but that is about all.

If only we'd built the new stadium when DL first started saying he was.. Not quite sure how it is great financial stewardship if you originally planned to spend £400m but then up spending £800m-£1bn

I imagine the deal hugely benefits Chelsea due to Courtois, I doubt that deal would have been available and the mentioned fee is 70-80 for buyers.

I will also add that I just dont think a major midfielder is a target (rightly or wrongly).
