Fair enough! Nice to hear a credible explanation for once. I'm always a bit worried when the manager doesn't get his first choice players though. Hope Poch can get enough positive results without that extra striker that we needed, cause I'm sure he would have flagged that one to baldini and Levy back in July!

I dont think Levy understands the importance of a managers player. Take manyoo for instance, forget Falco, their most important signing this window is Blind, he has worked with LVG a lot and knows/understands his methods etc, he will pass it on on the pitch, training, dressing room, the importance of this type of buy can not be understated. This is why AVB wanted Mouts and Poch wanted MS, its not rocket science but Levy misses the trick every time.

Blind has played 19 games for LVG and only a handful of them have been competitive matches. All of them were international matches where you only spend a week or so together. I'm not sure I'd call that working with him a lot.

Its still a lot. 19 times at international level could be a few years and that aside Daleys dad, Danny, won the CL under LVG so i guess they have discussed him at the dinner table a time or two, what he expects, his tactics and his methods etc etc. Im sure you understood my point about a managers player being important though.

If he'd been fit I think we might have gone for Hector Moreno first and if we're still in the market for a CB we'll be back for him. Mussachio strikes me as similar to Chiriches, who IMO would be far better suited to La Liga.

I agree with your point in general. I don think Blind is great example though. I think he was their backup. Of LVG new and liked him so much, why wait until the end of the window... It wasn't a hard transfer.
