Arsene Wenger remains hopeful that Mathieu Flamini will agree a new contract at Arsenal.

The French midfielder's current deal expires at the end of the season and he is free to talk to other clubs.
Flamini appeared close to leaving Emirates Stadium last summer, with then-Birmingham boss Steve Bruce keen on a swoop.
But the former Marseille youngster has grasped a second chance in North London and formed a profitable partnership with Cesc Fabregas in the centre of midfield this season.

Not concerned

He revealed before Christmas that talks regarding an extension had taken place, although he was in no rush to come to an agreement.
Gunners boss Wenger appears to be of a similar mindset and is optimistic that Flamini will decide to stay with the club.
"Mathieu is free to talk, but the talks [with Arsenal] are ongoing," Wenger told the club's official website.
"I am hopeful on it. I am not concerned."

Should we be making moves for him for a free transfer at the end of the season? Would be a right feather in the cap if it was pulled off.

The way he played against us last week suggested to me that he was bought a Spurs pin doll when he was a kid.

No chance.

We have enough problems without trying to sign any more Gooners and their baggage.

Also, General Football? :)

Surely there loss, reference Diarra, would be our gain would'nt it? Flamini would be ideal for our midfield, he was close to leaving the scum last season. I know I'm kinda dreaming about poaching him, but if you dont ask then you dont get in life!!!

I just prefer to think that there are plenty of players out there who haven't been tainted by wearing that shirt
