Can’t remember which ITK said it but they said we have such a good relationship with Ajax that they would except a lower offer from us and reject other clubs offers.

Is either one of those more reliable than the other? Or put another way, are either of them reliable?

Of course we can compete with a £50m for De Ligt, but if City offer him £200k a week wages then we wont be able to compete.

There's no way for even a club like Manchester City giving a 19 yrs old player 200k a week. That would wreak havoc amongst the players

We really don't need him Foyth Dier Sanchez CCV in the mix. Rather we concentrate on our full backs and CM

If he costs in transfer fees plus wages what Toby will then let’s go! We’ll have done well.

I think we can compete with city given the number of ex Ajax players we have and assurances we could give over playing time if we are headed to a back 3.

No one thinks we have too many CBs atm and we’re going to sell Toby ...

Is he good enough to play for us already? If he is and he's only going to get better then he would be a great investment.

I haven't seen him play much, but from what I've read he reminds me of Vincent Kompany when he first arrived on the scene as he seems to have the same muturity and leadership qualities that Kompany had.

Really? Ajax would lose out on money because there is a good relationship between us and them?? cmon now......

I'd assume that it would have something to do with a sell on clause, maybe they feel they'll make up the money they lose in the transfer fee later in the future as we're more likely to sell someone of de ligt's potential ability than city would be? (in their mind of course)

Ajax rear them sensible. Wouldn’t be surprised to see an Ajax prospect reject City for us if he sees it as better for his development. De Ligt does seem that kind of kid too.

If he's as good as people believe then we should certainly buy him, given the opportunity.

Out of the two defenders Sanchez or De ligt we have the better. Imo Foyth is a similar type of ball playing CB but if the club feels we need another CB when we also have Dier who has that leadership quality...I feel we can use that money elsewhere
