I feel bad for Ajax, they must really hate us. A once great club now just a selling club. Good for us but shame for them, perfect club for us to buy from and mound ourselves on players from, good technique and attitudes.

I'm sure they probably don't mind us. We got good deals on Jan and Eriksen, but paid top whack for Sanchez. We've probably built a good business relationship with them and they know that we'll not do anything underhand that other clubs might do. I'd much rather have a club like Ajax to do business with than a Chelsea or a United.

It would probably be better to bid £250M for Ajax as a whole, they have an excellent track record for bringing players through for us :shifty:

Or they love us for giving them loads of cash so they can pile it into their academies and scouting system to find the next ones to sell on?

At a Business level they may be fine but their fans must be very frustrated they can’t keep these really talented young players. Not that I give that much of a fuck as man.coty and Chelsea money has ruined the league a bit anyway so we need to do whatever we need to do.

I'm sure it's been said often that people at other clubs are happy to deal with Levy it's just the big clubs and the bastards that don't like him because they can't bully him.
Just cogitating on the post that said his agent would prefer him going to City because he will get a bigger lump as his fee but long term wouldn't his agent get more if he came to us and then moved on in a few years time, that will be two payments and he'll surely know Levy will get top price for him on the second deal.
Not that Levy will sell him but his agent might not know that.:)

Part of the trouble with agents is that there is little motivation to think long term. Your client can be tapped up by another agent tomorrow and is gone. All your lovely long term planning down the drain. So most of them want to maximise now.

Is De Ligt good enough to go straight in the first 11?
If we play 2 at the back next year it would probably be Jan and Sanchez. Then we would have De Ligt, Foyth and Dier as back ups?
Sounds good to me.

Good point I hadn't thought of that, I guess I was working on the basis that agents always put their clients interest first.
