Cheers bubble (y)... The article states (Not in full) -

Mino Raiola and Pep Guardiola relationship means Spurs should fancy De Ligt hopes
Tottenham Hotspur shouldn't be worried about Man City's interest in Matthijs de Ligt.

It looks like Tottenham Hotspur could face competition for Matthijs de Ligt - and it's serious competition.
According to The Daily Mail, Manchester City have joined the race to sign the Tottenham target and Ajax centre-back, who is valued at around £50 million [Daily Mail].
However, De Ligt is now among Mino Raiola's star-studded stable of clients and the Italian agent's relationship - or lack of relationship - with City boss Pep Guardiola shouldn't be forgotten.
It was only March when Raiola called the Premier League-winning manager a "coward" and a "dog" for comments about Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The pair have been at loggerheads since 2010 for issues relating to Ibrahimovic's stint at Barcelona under the Spaniard, and The Independentsuggested earlier this year that Raiola would "send his players to other clubs rather than see the Manchester City boss benefit from their services
."

But would Raiola be dealing with Pep, or just Txiki Burgerstain?

doesn't the name of Mino Raiola usually mean that Levy will not deal with him?

Pochettino wants De Ligt as first transfer

Mauricio Pochettino wants to land Matthijs De Ligt as Tottenham’s first summer transfer.

The 18-year-old Ajax defender is one of Europe’s hottest properties, with Manchester City also interested in his signature.

But Pochettino wants to get the deal done early.

De Ligt is set to cost a potential suitor up to £50million due to him immense potential.

IF this is true, due to how urgent it appears, I'd tend to think it means Toby is as good as gone.

Yeah I've accepted he's gone. To be honest I've been over him for a while now & just want it all sorted so we can crack on with more important shit. I'm confident Levy will only deal if it's absolutely what's best for the club. I fully expect someone will pop up & say "Oh yeah like selling Berbatov and getting Frazer Campbell", but NO!.

People can hate Levy all they want but no way would he let that happen again. Especially with not far shy of £1billion construction going on all around him. Stupid he most certainly ain't!

Yeah that's fair enough. I was more meaning that it's perhaps already been (or in the process of being) sorted & possibly finalised before the World Cup.
I think it will be more like Walker - Walker was sorted last summer, the day before he would have had to report to Spurs.

I think Alderweireld, assuming he makes it through the WC with no injury, will be sorted right before he would have to report to Spurs. I don't see it being done before the WC. No incentive for another team to take that injury risk.

I think when Poch says the club have to be brave he is talking about investing serious money in new players early and being confident we can offload the players they are replacing later in the window (i.e. after the World Cup).

I find it interesting that so many of our targets are not going to the World Cup.
Interesting but doesn't mean much to me. Everyone is freaking out about the Fabinho signing and he isn't going to the world cup in a squad that brings Paulinho and Renato Augusto.

Also an interesting this to note is how many nations that typically make it to the World Cup didn't this year and when you read the team names actually makes the world cup seem like a weakened field. Netherlands, Italy, Ghana, Ivory Coast, USA, Chile to name the bigger ones. Not saying the last 4 are normal contenders but you typically think of them as stronger sides than some of the nations that made it in.

Could be the only targets we know of arent at the World Cup because they are most likely to move and move quickly. Could have World Cup targets but the tournament will influence their fees/wages/options

cheers I knew there was someone our dear leader wouldn't deal with(y)

I can't pinpoint the exact beef, but I think he has a habit of messing clubs around in order to get better contracts for his players. It's likely that he miffed off DL.

That's because of Sissoko. Spurs executives are henceforth banned from watching the WC unless all incoming transfers are already wrapped up, in order to avoid more interesting decision making processes.

Ajax are close to signing Lisandro Magallan from Boca, a centre back.

Now we know who we are buying in 2020.
