really not sure about CCV, the feed back from Ipswich is they were glad to get rid, and if they weren't in need of a CB due to their tight owners he most probably wouldn't of had as much play time.
The feedback i got from Ipswich was that they thought highly of him.

Huh?? From who?

I'm married to an Ipswich fan, and she has a lot of family in the Suffolk area that are ST holders, and it came back to me that the general feel was they don't rate him, along with people they know etc, etc,

I know a lot don't like the owner and were definitely in the hate McCarthy mob.

I don't know if any of the etc, have ITK, but that's what I heard.

If it's a year loan back or not at all, I'd go for it

He's a star this kid and it would mean securing him early next window to allow him to bed in.

We could then look for experienced cover for a year (like we did with Naybet) and rely on a mixture of Verts, Sanchez, Dier and Foyth in the meantime.
Totally agree. And you never know... could leave the door open a little crack to keep Toby for one more year. Give him a chance to maximize his value, by extending his contract by one year. Yes, I know this is highly unlikely, but would make for an interesting solution.

I wonder how much truth is in us sending Foyth to Ajax.
Unless we were going to sell him to them - none.

Ajax don’t develop other team’s players. It’s simply not how they do things.

They did take Bertrand Traore on loan in 16-17 so its not totally out of the realm but I can't see us sending out 2 CB's and only bring back 1.

Don’t see how sending out Foyth is even remotely possible, would be total madness to start the season with only 3CBs when we may play many games with 3 at the back (and no I don’t count Dier, he’s said many times that midfield is where he wants to be).

Bertrand Traore is completely different. That was a player Chelsea were looking to sell - and did. Likely there was a purchase clause in there that either wasn’t activated or Lyon swooped in with more money. Totally different situation.

As I said they won’t develop players for other teams. Again if we’re not going to be selling them Foyth either now or after the loan they won’t be interested.

Foyth can't go out on loan. Not to another nation anyway. We need to keep him here to accumulate homegrown status.
Yeah I hadn't thought of that. Shame in a way as he'd have done really well there if we'd had no space for him here.

Isn't "home-grown" defined under both UEFA and EPL rules as at least three years prior to the player's 21st birthday? We acquired young Juan when he was 19 and a half. He turns 21 in January. Am I getting something wrong or does the math not quite work out on that one?

If wanyama returns to his best of 2016/17 diers best chance maybe as a central defender in a back 3. Don’t think both can play in midfield together far too toothless and unnecessary in most games.

Don’t think dier is by any means a nailed on starter when both are fit

You may be right actually. I was thinking he was still a teenager.

Given the ITK that Wanyama would be moved on if the right bid came in, I don’t think Poch agrees...

Either way, glad Herc has weighed in that Foyth isn't going to Holland. Really rate the kid. Admittedly, he's not at De Ligt's level and is not nearly as well-built and physically imposing as De Ligt. But I think Foyth's composure and ability on the ball at 20 years old is exceptional. Has the pace to track runs into the channels. Kinda reminds me of Azpilucueta at times, honestly. He just needs time to bulk up and get stronger and more assertive in his challenges and tackling, including fouling at the right times. Would hate to lose him so soon before he gets a chance to do that. If he gets stronger and sticks around a few years he could be a one of the league's better outside center halves, if played in a back three alongside a more physical central defender like Davinson...

I think Dier is really good as a DM but in the CB position I believe he is a liability. Too many errors.

Foyth is 1.90m and De Ligt 1.88m. You can always build muscles.
