I'm surprised Pochetto would say what he did; he sure didn't look too impressed at the time - not even standing up off his seat or showing any emotion.

Coco ran the full length of the pitch to celebrate his fantastic goal of the season and looked like he dedicated it to someone in the corner of the East / North stands - possibly Poch's wife...

To the fans it looked like Lamela had a great game and scored 2 brilliant goals but Pooch was clearly measuring his performance differently.
My guess is that Lamela is still not following instructions, and these goals are hardly going to convince him to start listening.

I would guess you are correct; his - admittedly incredible - goals apart, it seemed to me that Lamela was a little out-of-control at times with his running around and clumsily fouling opponents. This has cost the team in the last couple of games as well.
However one can't moan at the lad for his effort last night; well done Erik, your enthusiasm set an example to others!!

How did you work that out??

Poch would have been over then moon at his goals but in true classy manager style he maintained a bit of reserve and respect on the touchline.

Bet you he was smiling on the inside :)

That did not look like classy reserve to me - he looked furious.
And I bet even angrier inside.

It's all depending on how he celebrated the other goals, I don't remember seeing the camera pan to him get his reaction for the other four goals, if he reacted in the same way as lamela's first goal then there is absolutely nothing in his non-reaction for this goal.

Let's just enjoy the goal! One of the greatest ever Spurs goals, unbelievable piece of skill. Props to him for not only trying it, but also pulling it off...

Amazing goal

What I like about the goal is that it completely fooled the opposition. how can you expect that to happen when you're in goal or defending - doesn't exactly happen everyday.

Poch started with 2 strikers and sacrificed a midfielder.
In doing this, he reduced the team's defensive numbers if/when we lost possession, but expected his team to play with discipline to manage the increased risks. My reading of Thursday's match is that Poch thought the team (not just Lamela) were forgetting their wider responsibilities.
A good example of this was that Kane's third goal came from a Fazio cross from the edge of the opposition's 6 yard box, and It was no surprise that poor Hugo was left completely isolated several times in the match, ultimately resulting in his sending off.

Yes, but as discussed on TalkSport it is down to the one footedness of our expensive Argentine.

Don't agree about it being done to fool the opposition, you would expect it to be hit with the right foot, no fooling required.

Agree with Ube, the keeper we were all expecting a shot from that position.

@ralvy
OK so why do you think Pooch did not react to (technically) possibly one of the best goals scored at whl?
