Good choice if true. Shows his credibility, makes me think more of him.

Damn. Want him now. :-(

If this is true then he's a smart man, he knows Levys benchmark is top four and knows it will take a miracle to get us in the CL in 5 mins like Levy wants and dosnt want sacking if he dosnt get top 4.

Levy has made a rod for his own back and needs to lower his expectations for a couple of seasons while the new guy beds in and gets a team he can work with in place.

Levy seems to think we have some divine right to finish in the top four now and is making the challenge too intense and nervy, Levy needs to tell his man his minimum in season one is 7th and then wants improvements each season, even if their small ones .. by giving the manager a target of 7th or higher in the first season it will bring about a good feeling because when we finish higher than that it will have the feeling of doing better than expected which in turn will bring belief between the manager and players for the following season.

You can bet Brendan Rodgers wasnt given the 4th or else challenge. It was probably more like, ive got my team, were not in europe, lets see what we can do, it takes the pressure off and people perform better when their relaxed.

It's not just Levy who must demonstrate patience.

It's a nice thought, but our large squad means that 7th place and no-European income won't balance the books, and the more ambitious players won't settle for mid-table anonymity. They need to believe that the club is serious about chasing glory.

yes mate but if you read i am assuming that we will finish higher than 7th so in effect the manager will have done better than he thought Levy expected and the feel good factor will be good for the club.. its all about man management and giving confidence without actually saying it.
