Maybe this may just prompt Levy to deliver in order to keep Pochettino onside.

In reality, I actually think Levy already does a good job, but I think we're in as good a position as we've been for some time, and the right tweaks now could just give us the lift for the run in. We don't know what's being said within the club, and Pochettino could indeed be legitimately happy with his squad, and genuinely only interested in making specific minor adjustments rather than buying for the sake of it.

CF - a genuine understudy to allow Kane to take the odd rest and stay fresh. I'm torn over Berahino, is he the right player. Stylistically I'm uncertain, however, I do believe at Spurs, under Pochettino and with his England/U21 teammates, there'd be no repeat of the WBA petulance. I also believe he will go on to be a very good player and consistent goal scorer, but much like I still believe Townsend will go on to be a very good player, I'm unsure he's suited to the way Spurs want to play.
Dembele is the other option, less tested, less proven, but just already seems to have a bit more physical presence to give us a focal point. Some questions over work ethic, but if Pochettino has seen something he likes, I'd assume he feels he can harness him.

CB - we've seen with Wimmer's gradual introduction of late, the benefit of him being ready now Vertonghen is injured. Natural LCB so out system remains intact. I'd like to see the RCB issue addressed. Toby will benefit from the odd breather. Is the answer convincing Veljkovic he has a future and getting him to sign a new deal, I'd like to think so, as he has the versatility of being able to play the Dier role also. Alternatively is it time to bring Carter-Vickers up? Maybe. Clearly it's not Fazio though, and with Dier being used in DM, he's occupied, although it's clear Bentaleb is now being reintegrated back into that role to ease the load there, very well managed.

Finally, the talk of a couple of young additions, to be purchased now with a view to coming in the summer, on the same pattern as Alli. Very promising. The Independent have run a story suggesting James Maddison and Ademola Lookman are being targeted quite strongly, useful additions. Rico Henry, has also been mentioned again this week. Grab those three in the summer, along with a CF now and CB sorted, we'll be in a very strong position. Arguably not much need for further changes in the summer, just the arrival of the youngsters, and let them settle. We'll have a very well balanced squad, good depth, plenty of talent, that just needs to mature. No real need for huge time to gel, as changes would be minimal. Let the talent we have build on the bond they are already showing, and let them flourish.

Lloris, Vorm, McGee
Walker, Trippier, Walker-Peters
Rose, Davies, Ogilvie/Henry
Alderweireld, Veljkovic/Carter-Vickers, Ball
Vertonghen, Wimmer, Maghoma
Dier, Bentaleb, Winks/Lesniak
Dembele, Alli, Mason, Winks/Maddison
Lamela, Son, Oduwa
Eriksen, Pritchard, Carroll, Onomah
Chadli, Njie, Lookman
Kane, Dembele/Berahino, Harrison

The money they'd offer him would make it worth the risk for him.

I'd be highly surprised if anyone would turn down the riches in offer there.

I'd love him to stay but I imagine Levy isn't paying him what he's worth and isn't backing him financially in the transfer windows so far.

In the past he has given us targets and we haven't got his first choices and ended up with rubbish like fazio instead.

Failed to get another striker so far in two windows.

He might not say it publicly but he's probably a bit frustrated after all the good work he's doing.

I think you will find we normally pay our managers extremely well so I see no reason that poch is all of a sudden on minimum wage ?

I honestly believe you massively underestimate just how principled and honorable a man Potchetino is.

I'd imagine Natalie Portman would really like to blow me off...she'd never say it publicly though.
This is a fun game.
Take it from me the experience isn't as good as you'd imagine..
Pochottino is an ambitious man and so he will want success on his CV for his future career, I think he believes he can achieve that with us and so ain't going anywhere for the time being, paper talk, tomorrow's fish wrapping.

I kind of wish Barcelona would show interest in him because then I think some would get a glimpse of it.

I'm 99% convinced he'd turn down any offer by them because of his history with Espanyol.

You're missing the point spectacularly fella.
No one gives two shits about what I imagine... And the same applies to u.
Except you did lol, enough to respond to my post.

Excuse the word imagine from my post and replace it with, what I am led to believe, if that makes you happy.

I have been told lots of things from someone inside the club over the years and so make posts with a certain bias sometimes.

Put it this way, I'm surprised levy hasn't sorted a new deal out for Poch yet and while Poch is a honourable man, you need to look after your staff accordingly.

I know you said the other day you don't mind the odd question, within reason of course, but are the people you know as effusive in their praise of Pochettino as every one else seems to be? Obviously as a fan and from the outside it seems like the players have a close relationship with him and it seems as though he's a really good guy, but that's obviously without knowing what happens behind the scenes so it's hard to be be absolutely sure when forming that opinion.

So you're itk now?
Should really get verified by the mods if that's the case.

Poor guy is feeling under the weather after being linked with Chelsea. Guess it's enough to turn anybody's stomach.

I think we should wait till the end of the season if this is true, although I suspect it's more guesswork from the Mirror.

On a side note, I found the last paragraph amusing!

Guessing Poch would wait until the end of the season as well, especially if he believes we have a chance of winning the league or a cup.

He is sure to get a new contract regardless but would have more bargaining power (and rightly so) if we have some silverware to show for the season.
