Levy has done a good job supporting Poch, setting up the academy, building the training facilities, getting the new stadium sorted and bringing in Poch's people for him. By contrast, Utd is a poisoned chalice since Ferguson left. It will take them a long time to turn this particular corner IMO whilst we are moving from strength to strength with some exciting events on the horizon. I think Poch will stay - hopefully becoming one of the Premiership's longest serving Managers.

Encouraging to hear that as I was out with someone last night who's related to an Arsenal board member. He said everyone at the scum is incredibly smug about about how much they've flown under the radar of the Guardiola situation. Said Wenger is retiring at the end of the season and Guardiola is a done deal as his successor.

A lot of it adds up, wenger is in his 20th season, probably going to win the league this season so goes out on a high, Pep going to Arsenal makes a lot more sense than selling out to oil money.
Yeah Pep would never ever want to manage a club that sold out to oil money...

It's not and never has been about the money for MP. Had Southampton backed him he'd still be there now.

Asked if he would be staying if Cortese left, the Argentinian said: "Of course not, because the person that has put his faith in me in this club and as a manager is Nicola Cortese.

MP could not have been any clearer really - he would be going in the summer regardless.

ManU would be crazy to appoint him until he has shown he can win things and has some CL experience.
The truth is we still do not know if his methods can work over a whole season, and get us to the next level.
Looking good now, but we'll know a lot more in May.

There's no point getting worked up about this, I'm sure Levy is thinking of creative ways to reject forthcoming approaches.

They hired someone with loads of CL experience and trophies and so far he has achieved nothing of note.

Of course, Cortese was the man who bought into MP's philosophy and wanted to build the club around his ideas. Once he was gone it was over. We have exactly that at the moment with Levy, and it's clear they have a very close relationship.

Sunday Supplement team completely ignoring Poch's quotes of a few days ago, where he says he's here for the longterm... No surprise.

Tottenham would have little chance of persuading Mauricio Pochettino to snub an offer to manage Manchester United, it has been suggested.

It has been reported that Pochettino and Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc are on a list of potential replacements for Louis van Gaal should United decide to sack the Dutchman this summer.

The Sun’s Head of Sport Shaun Custis believes Pochettino would jump at the opportunity were he offered the job at Old Trafford.

“If the offer came, and Pochettino decided he wanted to go, he would go,” Custis said on Sunday Supplement on Sky Sports.

“I know Daniel Levy hangs on to his players until the last minute, but there is no way Tottenham would be able to stop Pochettino going.”

The Daily Telegraph’s Jeremy Wilson agreed that Spurs would struggle to prevent Pochettino from moving on, adding: “He is very ambitious, he moved quickly from Southampton when he got the chance and I don’t think he’d hang around if he got the chance to go to United.

“The logic of appointing Pochettino is unarguable because he’s done a fantastic job at Southampton and Spurs.

“It will be difficult, in terms of negotiating with Daniel Levy, but I think Pochettino would want to do it, he is very ambitious.

“Tottenham is a fantastic long-term project with the new stadium, but Manchester United is Manchester United. At the end of the day, when you compare United to Spurs, United are clearly a club that have more potential.”

I find that write up laughable, their bias is obvious. It's the equivalent of a Lawro prediction.

I love the fact they are quoting someone who was clearly just guessing.

In other news "Brickie Dave from down the pub doesn't think Rooney is past it".

True enough.
If they offered the job to MP, and accepted that he would absolutely gut the team,
and bring through the youth, then he would be a fool to turn them down.
It would be a brave decision.

Apparently United have more potential than us...I think that's the most cretinous thing suggested.

They would think twice about it.

Poch has an amazing future ahead of him but has never coached in the CL, has never won one single title so I doubt United would make the same mistake they made with Moyes.
