Hope he gets a good performance out of the team for his birthday.

"It'll be tough, because Huddersfield are in a position where they need points too. Every season, the teams that are promoted from the Championship are stronger and show more quality.

"I hope to celebrate (my birthday) with a good performance and three points."

Hugo Lloris: 'Mauricio Pochettino partnership is great'

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has hailed his "great" relationship with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettinoas "one of the closest" in his career.

Lloris, who joined Spurs from Lyon in 2012, has been the club's first-choice goalkeeper since Pochettino took charge of the club.

The French stopper has been influential in his side's performances this term, something which he puts down to his relationship with Argentine coach Pochettino.

"I don't like to compare it, I've always had a good relationship with my managers - but I can't hide that it's maybe the closest," Lloris told Sky Sports News. "We have a great relationship, as manager and player and as men.

"I think from the first moment I understood his philosophy in football, and I try to go between the team and him to act as a leader, even if I have to think about myself too.

The above is so important... If we failed to hold onto Poch, so many of this squad would leave too, as they play for him and love him.

Which I totally get, as he's one sexy mofo.

It is bizarre how good Poch has been in the league but how bad he has been in cup comps, for a brilliant manager his knock out record is awful
We have had some very lucky draws but if you look at his record against prem teams and in europe i think we have got through 3 out of 14 ties, and only beaten Burnley, Leicester and Newcastle, i may have missed a few out
Whenever we get drawn against anyone any good we go out
Its an odd statistic which reflects badly on such a great manager, we lose and play well too often in big games for it to continually be bad luck

We played a team that has been in 2 european finals in 3 years. And look at the group we had. Now compare it to the draw's that City, Liverpool and Man Utd have had. I'd fully expect the latter 2 to have struggled against Juventus as well. Poch's also taken us to one final and one semi final. I think we'll reach the FA Cup final as well this season.

Yep but in both the semi and final we lost as soon as we played anyone decent, and in general the cup record has been pretty much that

Poch has got to go. He's had two cracks at the Champion's League with us and he still hasn't won it. Personally, I think I've been more than patient.

it's silly that one can't make a criticism on here (and knowlespurs' was pretty fair and balanced) without it automatically being turned into Poch Out!
