Also, ‘reaction to the fact, as yet unconfirmed, that Hart is out of the England squad’.

Unconfirmed facts. It’s going to be a long summer.

Lol. And Jim White saying 13,000 times a day ‘it’s my understanding...’ which means he’s guessing...!

Pochettino is a guy of the highest integrity and standards. Not a chance he will want to go to crooked Chelski. I cant see a workable relationship between Pochettino and Abramovich - and nor can the media!. Id like to say I was surprised at the media for peddling this trash.....

Poch has said he likes to build a team and at Chelsea he would never get a chance to do that. It's a 2 year job max so makes no sense for him to go there.

Even if Poch went there and managed to stay there for a couple of years, he'd be signing himself up for yet another period of transition during a stadium build and a 3 times as long stay at Wembley, he'd be fucking mad to do that

I'm all for Poch wanting some backing in the transfer window, but I really don't hope he'll be handpicking the targets. Sissoko, Llorente and Janssen (and probably Wanyama) were players he pushed hard for, where at least the first two are strikingly different from the profile we usually go for.

Hopefully our relatively new transfer setup have been able to identify targets that Pochettino likes and that him feeling supported means that money are being made available for targets that the club as a whole have identified rather than sending Poch out to shop with a wheelbarrow of cash.

I wouldn't be so hard on Poch here. Sissoko clearly wasn't our first choice (Mane was) and that time he was a starter of French national team who reached Euro's final. Of course, it's the same player who was shit average for Newcastle all season long, but still I can understand taking a shot here.

I still remember people here saying they prefer Janssen over Batshuayi as Jansen was more established at the time. Sure, it didn't work out, but he is Soldado 2.0. on more fields than just the field - on paper, this transfer was really good, just didn't work out.

Wanyama was fantastic during 16/17 season then injury happened. I hope he's gonna play back on that level next season. And I'm not going to talk about Llotente at all

Wanyama was a great purchase. Cheap, knew Poch, and obviously a very good player.

The rest was more to show that the players Poch really pushed for have hardly been great.

As far as Sissoko is concerned, I think it was Levy who thought he was great rather than Poch. I still remember Poch made a comment to the effect that Levy signed Moussa and thought Poch could make him an even better player.

We had ITK that this was very much a Poch choice.

However what is clear is that he wasn't first choice and this seems to be a very reoccurring problem. We don't seem to get Poch's number one pick often enough which must be frustrating as you're essentially left with a player that you may have some element of doubt with. This is what has to change going forward.

Poch "I want Zaha, he's the player I believe will help us reach the next level"
Levy "If he's the one, I'll get him!!"

Less...
Poch "I want Zaha, he's the player I believe will help us reach the next level"
Levy "I will try, if we can't get him who is next?"

We were definitely after Zaha last summer.....

Short of writing a novel dedicated to the subject I am prettt sure Breezer has posted ITK on here a dozen or so times explaining what went wrong there and that we ballsed it up by mega lowballing a salary offer.

To be honest I dont think I knew why we failed. It was certainly a late attempt at getting him. At the end of the day we would have offered what we thought was reasonable. I believe they want 70m now?? I might be wrong. But for 70m, they can keep him....

That signing went against everything Paul Mitchell believed in with regards to player profiles and that is from a very good source. Levy wanted Sissoko.

If that's the case then levy needs to hang his head in shame and put more faith in poch and the scouts.

Isn't that why Mitchell left?

He left start of August and Sissoko signed deadline day, but as soon as we was shortlisted the writing was on the wall. Mitchell had almost a moneyball approach, but as you have seen with the money Southampton have made, he got a lot right. In terms of age, technical ability etc, Sissoko went against everything he looked for.

To be fair it was a transfer that went against everything our club usually look for! I'm still trying to work it out today. Swear Ashley must've won a bet with Levy.

Why the fuck would mr moneyball himself want sissoko then?
