Exactly. Here are all 22 senior signings under Pochettino. I've put in bold who I think are definite successes, and in italic the players who might come good in the future. I leave it up to each to draw further conclusions about Pochettino's transfer savvyness.

Vorm, Gazzaniga, Davies,
Yedlin, Fazio, Wimmer,
Sánchez, Foyth, Aurier,
Trippier, Alderweireld, Dier,
Stambouli, Dele, N'Jie,
Son, Moura, Wanyama,
N'Koudou, Sissoko, Llorente, Janssen.

I've deliberately left out speculations about who are and are not "pochettino-signings", because ultimately they have happened on his watch and I see no reason to attribute successes to him and failings to other Spurs executives on a guessing basis.

Son not a success?

I think you forgot to bold Son... Even then thats 7/21 knock out successful signings with 4 potential positives I personally don't count on Gazza to do anything but he's a 3rd choice goalie so who cares. Thats about 50% success. I know he doesn't have a huge budget but its overall very average. Just goes to further prove my point spend on the right player than guessing and trying to be cute and failing time and time again.

Vorm, trippier and son were great signings for us. Not everyone has to walk into the first 11.

Seem to remember reading that neither SAF or Wenger got better than 50% right.

Wait, seriously?
I think it's a good signing, but I don't put him in the Alderweireld/Dele Alli category. That's all. I wouldn't undo signing him. I think Pochettino has an overall under 50% of signings who were good or really good. And I agree with you, we must sign fewer players of higher quality.

Probably right, but I think it just goes to prove the point that we shouldn't just accept that the player is going to be a success cause Poch wants him.

Vorm was good for what he was - a capable back-up to Lloris. He was not brought in to compete with Lloris, so I would consider him a success. Gazzaniga I think was bought purely to be a #3 keeper - at least until an Academy lad was capable of filling in that role.

Only other quibbles - Trippier is probably starting for England in the WC - I'd say that is a success - and Son should be marked as a success.

Given the relative prices - I would only classify Sissoko as a "flop" - certainly others did not work out, but those were speculative buys on a budget. Sissoko was expensive and a poor fit.

No we shouldn’t but Poch deserves to be backed. so if we don’t back his judgement whose do we back ?

Man I think you're being harsh here. The guy has scored 47 goals here in 3 years. I think he's been incredible. We paid 22mil for him and he's without a doubt our best wide option on the attack.

That's part of my point this summer: We have to stop buying speculative purchases just because they are cheap.

I don't think Vorm has been good. He was cheap. He doesn't stand out to me as somebody I will say "Well done Pochettino, you proved your self when signing Vorm".
But Vorm was needed as we need a good back up gk. There wasn’t many better gk available for the position.

Can agree with that. It's why levy has mostly gone for young players that wont lose too much value if they don't work out.
Sell reinvest.
