FourFourTwo have ranked Pochettino 11th in their 50 Best Managers in the World. Every season they massively underrate him - I think last season they had him below Bilic ffs.

"After out-performing bigger-spending rivals in the Premier League, all Poch needs now is silverware to take a step forward into the world’s top 10 coaches"

Which, on the face of it is not an unreasonable assessment, until you see that above him at number 10 is Peter Bosz (not on the previous year's list yet also won nothing this season). Of course Klopp, who despite having a much higher budget and no European football could only finish 10 points behind Spurs, is a further place higher.

Obviously one season doesn't take away from Klopp's achievements at Dortmund five years ago, but clearly this is a yearly compilation.

Nah, I can't be bothered if the rest of the footbsll world doesnt rate Pochy. It just means Poch continues to do the good work with us for few more seasons without attracting too much attention.

Excellent, and a must watch for the supporters to understand the club ethos at this time.

I also liked the video clip but I do wish Poch would sometimes use another word than 'philosophy'....you probably posted a suitable alternative....'ethos'. Thanks for the link...

He said himself he'd be better explaining it in spanish. He gets his message across fine for me though.

He's just a class act, must be great to be a professional footballer and be at a club where you know if you put in the work and you're good enough your chance will come and your dreams might come true.
We went years without producing talent from our youth ranks and with this philosophy as Poch puts it we seem to have a conveyer belt of hungry young talent.
And I for one prefer it, would rather see KWP deputise for Trippier instead of bringing in cover from overseas for example.

Think the bit where he said we are calm regarding transfers means that we are waiting to see if there are any good deals to be had. Other clubs are going nuts at the moment, both fees and wages. Only 8 players at madrid earn over £100k a week and they are the richest team in the world.

Brilliant interview thanks for posting, I'm sure Poch has said before he would rather use the academy then spend money, looking forward to see some of our players this season

Wish some more of our fans could understand this position. I love Poch. We know he wants to strengthen, but we don't need or want lots.

I swear the day this guy leaves will be the worst day in history for the club, think i'll curl up in a fetal position for 3 months and cry myself to sleep every night.

Absolutely.

This man is the heartbeat of our club, I have Ledley and Kane love for him.

I'm 25 so this is easily the best state the club has been in since I've been alive and he is easily the best manager we've had in that time.

The team is in complete harmony with the fans and I think it is the strongest fan-team relationship in the league. This is down to Poch and his team.

About the seven millionth time that he has said things like 'we have/will/want to be different', 'not competing transfer wise with the other top clubs', 'believe in our young players', 'wants more of them to get game time this year'... He's saying the same thing, maybe at some point a large part of the fan base listens.

But no, I predict the transfer junkies wont be happy

It's always been like that....difference is this summer we haven't signed anyone yet which makes the fiends all itchy.

I agree but you'd think the summer we signed the Beatles would've made everyone realise that shiny new signings mean fuck all in the grand scheme of things.
