He hasn't written a book. It is a bit bizarre but it's by Balague, who I've learnt to largely ignore over the years. Cover looks almost self-published shite too. Random.
Whether he has written it or not is pretty irrelevant. Its his story written by balague.

All the quotes I’ve seen so far which are pretty extensive must have been 5-10 pages of a book is all in Pochettinos words.

It's all Pochettino's own words as interpreted by Balague. It's Pochettino's book.

On Kyle Walker:

Walker came to my office after the Watford game. 'Gaffer, I've been at Tottenham for nine years. I've thought about it and my heart isn't here any more. Nor is my head. I've given all I have to give. I wanted to tell you before I tell my agent that I want to leave this summer.'

'Kyle, you have to stay professional. There's a month and a half to go. We're battling for the Premier League and FA Cup. We have to be focused and finish the campaign strongly.'

'OK, gaffer. But it's already decided.'

On Kyle Walker:
Geez, I was expecting something much worse than this and the Dier thing after the melts on here. Talk about an over reaction.

Pochettino is an intelligent man who has never undermined his players before. In fact, it's quite the contrary, they regularly say how much they respect him and how much they would do for him. Does anyone seriously think that the club and players wouldn't be all over this and know all about it?

Yeah - massive fan of Poch - but this is not a lot different than Rose going to the media.

Best case would have been to never open up for a book - but if you have to do that - at don't let it be published/leaked until the off-season.

Especially not before the Liverpool game. I guess will see today how the players react.

Crazy stuff, I wouldn't tell him a thing if I was a player after reading this.

He always have witnesses (his friends) and probably tape recorder. :D

Waiting more quotes from the book of course, but I'm kinda nervous because these quotes came just before Liverpool match.

Never been Pochettino's biggest fan, but after three seasons (like Spurs any player or manager / 3y is long time in football) he feels like big part of my favorite club so you will never see me again to write "sack him". Let's see what SkySports Liverpool biased pundits will say before game...

Exactly, Poch’s worked so hard and so well in building trust with and among the players, and in unifying the squad. This kind of negative, tell-all, public airing works in exactly the opposite direction. I hope it stops.

Tottenham player taunted Mauricio Pochettino's assistant Jesus Perez with 'the Jose Mourinho chant' after club lost 2015 League Cup final to Chelsea
  • Mauricio Pochettino has suggested Tottenham were a mess when he took over
  • Certain players had got too comfortable and some refused to train on Mondays
  • He said: 'My team and I weren't able to convince everyone [of] the way forward'
  • Pochettino also claimed one player taunted assistant Jesus Perez over a defeat

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino explains the resistance he and assistant Jesus Perez encountered from some players when they took over in 2014...

In our first season, my team and I weren't able to convince everyone [of] the way forward.

Certain big names had got too comfortable — for example, one player who had been at the club for many years no longer came in for training on Mondays — but we gave them the chance to make mistakes and rethink things.

It took us four months to prompt a drastic transformation. Some players came on board, others did not.

Not everyone accepted the changes and there was a lot of tension.

In our first season in charge, we took the step not to have the team spend the night at a hotel all together before the League Cup final against Jose Mourinho's Chelsea because we felt doing so wouldn't help them.

It was best that people just came to play the game.

The day after we lost that match, one of our own players sang the Jose Mourinho chant to Jesus's face.

That is what we had to contend with.

I’ll be honest I’m not overly comfortable about the idea of the book. I’m not sure why Poch has had to do it, but there were articles last week with quotes from Levy, Kane, Alli etc so it’s hard to believe the club and players didn’t know this was being written.

And seriously what’s come out so far isn’t the cringe fest that was Rodgers fly-on-the-wall at Liverpool and usually the press would go with the more sensational stuff first....

With regards Walker, it’s nothing new really and I do sense Poch has a desire to right what he thinks are wrongs and this is his answer to Walkers “Pep is better” barb over the summer.

On Dier, isn’t this more outing Mourinho for (potential) tapping up?
The rest of the Dier comments aren’t too bad, he said he’ll be the best English centre half..hardly derogatory.

Anyway, it’s all a bit naive. If you’re attention to detail and planning is so high, why leave yourself open by doing this? Hopefully the rest is just dull diary of a season stuff and it’s all quickly forgotten.

He lost the England job because he said he believed that disabled people were being punished for sins in a past life or some bullshit.
yes, I know.....but prior to that he also lost the respect of the dressing room for writing a book that the players believed was a little too revealing

Yeah, it just seems so out of character that I'm finding it a little hard to compute.

It's definitely authorised right rather than, say, a series of 'off the record' conversations that Balague has decided to publicise?

Balague is such a media whore it does seem really strange Poch would trust him with this sort of thing.

Seems to go directly against Poch's whole ethos.

Everyone needs to calm down. This book was sanctioned by the club and all the players and Levy knew about it.

From the book's own introduction:
Guillem Balagué was granted unprecedented access to Pochettino and his backroom staff for the duration of the 2016-17 season, and he has therefore been able to draw on extensive interview material with Pochettino, his family, his closest assistants, players such as Dele Alli and Harry Kane, and even a very rare conversation with Daniel Levy to tell the manager's story in his own words.

Baffled by everyone’s reaction here. There’s nothing in those quotes of any concern. Why would Dier have any issue with anything said here? It’s nothing like airing dirty laundry - he’s just explaining how he sees him and his long term position. Storm in a teacup. As for Walker, he’s a snake and he has gone so who cares anyway?
