not completely dumb.

we don't know that Levy and Poch haven't sat down, and that Poch in private has said he wants a new challenge, 1 that he doesn't have to watch the pennies and they have agreed between them to see out the season.

if that was the case, which I really hope isn't close to being half true, then not many chairmen would spend money on players the next man in charge doesn't want.

It wouldn't be a complete shock the reason why we landed up with Saha/Nelson in Redknapps last season, the only difference being we all knew it was looking like Redknapps finally

We don’t know that Poch isn’t a lizard man taking down our economy.

I have a nasty suspicion you could be right.

In private he's telling levy not to spend money but in public he's telling everyone that he can see himself at Spurs for the next 20 years.

k then...

oh I totally agree with you shady, and I friggin hope he is with us for the rest of my lifetime (doubt that'll be 20years) but it is worrying when we hear that we aren't likely to even replace Dembele at this moment in time

I've supported this club for 58 years, so positivity comes hard to me mate.

I call them silly wages because they are.

the more successful clubs do it because they have been successful for most of the time the PL and CL have been in place, or purchased by owners that have thrown stupid money at it (Chelsea & City) and have stadiums bigger than WHL was (oh I forgot we're not in a stadium are we).

so if a player asked for 180k a week, yet Alli is on 150k, but the player isn't as good or even a guarantee of even settling in England or playing in the PL week in, week out, you would risk causing bad vibes just so you could have a shiny new toy?

and out of everything I posted the only thing you could pick holes in was my "silly wages"

You say shiny new toy to belittle my point but it remains.

Just like the people in the early 00s who said house prices were out of control and that they would wait for them to drop ended up getting prices out of the market entirely.

We are short of players - if we don’t want to pay the going rate we won’t get the ones we need.

A bit like the retards in here saying Liverpool were paying too much in transfer fees, agents fees and wages - they are about to win their first title in 30 years.

Just as an aside - the NBC commentators spoke about the Dier incident during the match - it obviously left a huge impression on them.

I think that speaks very highly of Poch - to instill that kind of mentality, and for Dier to embrace it so fully - and for the CLub projecting such a positive impression on anyone visiting the club.

Replace Dembele with who and at what price though?

It's like people can't get the fact that we're:

a) Tight on money as it is
b) January is a difficult month to do business in anyway

So us not doing the usual thing of spending money in January (Lucas permitted) means that the manager has spoken to Levy in private and told him not to spend because he'll be off in the summer despite making all the noises that he wants to stay at Spurs for a long time? Makes sense I guess...

because we have injuries, we are only short of 1 player. you can only have a squad of 25, we only sold Dembele last week.

with Man C only being 4pts behind, and Liverpool a Salah injury or suspension for diving that 4pts can be easily gone. Liverpool only have to draw 2 matches and City win, and they will go past them on GD

We are short 3 players - Dembele, Wanyama and Llorente.

Dembele is gone.
Wanyama has a career limiting injury.
Llorente is just a terrible player.

Woah woah woah...

Woah.

Careful fella, it’s not allowed round here to suggest that Levy is backing Pochettino, in fact it’s tantamount to blasphemy and punishable to the fullest extent of the law’s capabilities.

It is resssuring to get your insight though, so thanks, it’s good to know that the manager isn’t just sat their waiting for the warm embrace of Ed Woodward’s bosom, despite what Sky and the vast majority of redcafe and SC might think.

oh I agree January isn't the best of months, and like you I agree money is tight especially with the delays, and with the latest ITK news I expect us to go into the last 4 months with 24 man squad.

my original post was that it could be a possibility

Wanyama and Llorente are still in the squad, they haven't been sold, they get a weekly wage.

with Wanyama at the start of the season, it was rumoured his injury was a worry, but due to not being sold and receiving treatment he has still appeared for us on a few occasions. if he had reacted to the treatment differently then there could of been a possibility he would of played more.

because they thought his injury was a concern, are you suggesting we should of just put him on the scrap heap? and then went and spent silly money on a player that might of got injured in his 1st appearance and been out for the season.

Llorente isn't crap, nor was Saldado, nor is Janssen. we just don't play to the 1st 2 strengths, and Janssen struggled to settle, tried to hard when a ball bouncing in off his arse could of been the difference, plus had personal issues

I've supported us for 48, but have seen the changes in football to know that a lot of what the FM players on here post, is not possible in the real world.

unless Tavistock/ENIC decided to take a chance on going all out and spending silly money and then hoping, and it falls within FFP then your going to be fighting a losing battle

I love the way the club are doing things

I don’t think you realise the extent of Wanyama’s injury. He has made 4 appearances this year - he has been available for sale since the summer due to the severity and permanence of the injury. He needs replacing - you surely can’t be making the argument that there’s no point in signing a replacement because they might get injured too?!?!,

Janssen is one of the worst players ever to pull on a Spurs shirt.

Llorente is passed it.

To claim they are all good players and that the issue is the way Spurs play is beyond deluded - you must either be a moron or a troll, I’m going with the latter.
