I suggest the answer to your problem is to give Social media a miss. the vast majority of it is just made up or opinion dressed up as information.

Absolutely spot on. In fact, I'd go further than that, I'd scrap it altogether but that's just me.

It's perfectly fine if you know who to look out for and ignore. Also, take everything with a pinch of salt and not take it so seriously. It's not actually a hard thing to do.

You are literally using social media now by being on this site lol

Hmm. It's kind of true, this is a form of social media, but I'm sure you do actually know who I was having a pop at rather than message boards. It's Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat and the like who are the real culprits for allowing all sorts of idiots to post anything they like, some contributions have been so appalling, they've resulted in some young people actually taking their lives, like that poor girl the other week, Molly Russell. Perfectly innocent people are targeted for bullying and trolling for absolutely no reason other than the senders think it's a bit of fun.

Someone I know very well a while back lost his son at the age of 12 years old and soon after, he received some really vile messages on social media calling his son a stupid little c**t and he's better off without him and all sorts. Just what you need when you're grieving over your dead child...! And while this goes on, the people who own these sites say there's nothing they can do as they are only offering a platform for debate and conversation.

Sorry to go off on one mate, but this is exactly what I was referring to when I suggested we close down those avenues which are so often abused by some very strange people who get off on it.

...everybody except perhaps Christian Eriksen. What bugs me is it can't be just about how much money we can pay him every week. I'm sure there are other assurances he wants to have agreed but we just don't know what they are. I'm sure many of the players are pretty pissed off that our stadium is still not completed, and some may be upset about us not having strengthened the squad but I for one would love to know exactly why Chris has still not committed himself his future to the club. He is a crucial part of our plans in Poch's heart and I'm 100% sure of that.

My apologies, I haven't yet watched the Vertonghen interview may be more is revealed there, I'll have to check it out.

Isn't it horrible not actually knowing what's going on with Erksen. Many people think they know, and they write as if they did know, but unless you're actually on the inside of the negotiations, they don't know anything. I mean no disrespect to anyone who may really be ITK on this subject (genuinely) it's not my intention to upset anyone on here...but theres an awful lot of utter bilge being posted on social media from all and sundry which is patently nonsense.

.

I wouldn't write that off so quickly.

At the end of the day Barca or Real (and a few others) could pay Eriksen £350k a week to £600k a week, depending on the package, etc.

Does Eriksen earn even £100k a week at Spurs?

Tbh, I couldn't really blame anyone who wanted to move job to earn 4, 5 or 6 times what they're earning currently.

EDIT: He's on £75k a week according to the ES:

Love this line in an ESPN article:

"This is a man you trust. If Pochettino said he was going to fix your car with a bit of string and a sledgehammer, you would hand over the keys. Mauricio knows."

Surely it's an Aquascutum coat? They're club affiliated still I think.

I'm glad he ditched the Italian hitman look, and joined the pullover brigade. Suits him much better.

Over the last 116 days, Tottenham have played 26 matches in four competitions. That would be a punishing schedule for any of the Premier League’s top six, but Tottenham have a thin squad that has been ravaged by absentees. A list of players to have missed at least one game over that 116-day period: Davinson Sanchez, Jan Vertonghen, Ben Davies, Serge Aurier, Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, Dele Alli, Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura, Harry Kane.

When that run began, Tottenham were hanging by a thread in the Champions League and their ability to finish in the top four was being widely questioned. They have won 20 of those 26 matches. Given the circumstances of their injuries and stadium fiasco, that is outrageous.

But then that is the great strength of Pochettino: fighting with one hand tied behind his back and yet still able to deflect the punches and land body blows of his own. When the chips are down, either at half-time or in the context of an entire season, he gathers whatever components are available and builds them into a team far greater than the sum of its parts. He’s magic, y’know.
