I would say that if we fuck up CL qualification Pochs job may well be in some jeopardy.
So you think that Levy's gonna sack a manager who has achieved CL in 2/4 seasons in charge, one of which playing every home game at Wembley, when all the managers he's appointed in 15 odd years of ownership have achieved it a grand total of once?

Don't think so mate, Levy aint daft.

Mate! You have totally misread my comments. I am nowhere near blaming him!!!

I am merely stating where we NEED to improve. And those saying we don’t need an alternative striker to HK, as we have ‘Sonny’ is a great example. And in your point of Dembele, I agree with you.

There was absolutely nothing he could of done different today. It just exposes where we are lacking. Hope I have explained myself?

Why did poch play kane on the first hand? Lamela and ali as a number 9 doing fine thn why change it in order to accomodate unfit harry kane??

The fact is the last two times we won a trophy was because we had managers who knew how to win one of cup games. We have no experience of winning big matches when it matters in our whole squad and management team and this will continue to be our downfall.

See I don’t get this at all. I’m gutted like properly the most gutted I’ve been in a while BUT to say we don’t win big matches is bullshit. People forget the big matches we do win like city away, Chelsea away, Liverpool and Arsenal at home they were all big matches at the time and if we would have lost any of them someone would have said we don’t win the big matches.

Because we won them they are forgotten.

I love poch and what he has done for us it’s just that final step that’s missing but we will get there I’m sure

It's hard to deny that Chelsea game a few weeks ago was a big one. We'd be really struggling for top 4 if we'd lost that one.

? Poch?

come on mate....how is Poch to blame for that shit show from Dembele, Harry going missing?

Poch can take a chunk of the blame for that shitshow in the sense that for one, Harry was rushed back, we looked better without him vs chelsea and he needed to address that rather than leave him on the pitch.

He also could have chosen our first choice keeper and our more experienced CB.

He also can improve his in-game management, Taking our left back off, losing our shape when Son was having a terrible game anyway and then having to bring on Wanyama to address the lack of shape is a shambles, this isn't the first big game we have lost any semblance of shape.

Poch is fantastic and he's the master of improving players glaring weaknesses but it's time he addressed some of his own to put him in that elite manager bracket. His use of subs, his stubbornness towards choosing players who he has disputes with and the lack of willingness to drop his favourites when they're not bang on it.

so bloody entitled.....prior to Poch we barely got CL! And we are there on min resources....no perspective

No, I'm not entitled at all. But it would be nice to see the club winning something before I die. It hurts so bad when we lose important games, especialy when we have as good or better players than Man United. Sure, they spend a lot more money on pay a lot more in wages. But if you look at their starting eleven, how many of their players are better than what we have? De Gea, Sanchez and Pogba (maybe)?

Next year, no one will talk about beating Real Madrid at Wembley. But a cup win would be something you could talk about forever. "Hey, do you remember that time when we won The FA Cup by beating Arsenal in the final". It feels a lot better than "Hey, do you remember that time when we beat Real Madrid in the group stage of Champions League and then got knocked out by Juventus".

Edit: And I don't want Poch to go. But it's frustrating to lose imporant games like this. Because this team has the potential to achieve more than just participating in the Champions League.

I’m not sure. We know what Levy can be like. If we fuck up CL from this position, going into a new stadium....it would be a disaster.
Not saying he should go- I’d be devastated if it happened- but I do think Levy might think about it.

I just think Poch is a long way from being a Real Madrid, United,PSG manager. Those clubs demand trophies every year.

I think Poch has found his level with us in that for (relative) little investment top 4 is really the only goal. He delivers that each season and he’ll do for Levy. Winning a trophy would be a bonus but for Levy & Poch it’s top 4 that matters. Should we get top 4 this year then we can’t argue against his record of 3 Out of 4 seasons most fans would take this if offered 8-10 years ago.

Poch has done great thus far. But he isn’t without fault. Nice guys (his principles) don’t always win and he frustrates when he doesn’t see the obvious. Kane not fit, Son not playing well and making changes far too late...just some of what was wrong today. And as others have said, his book title seems ironic as sometimes Poch is anything but brave.

Us fans want the next step though.
Trophies to celebrate. In a game that’s increaslingly dictated by the amount of money spent, I’m not sure it’ll happen to us soon.

I hope Poch wins a trophy and I hope it’s with us, his hard work deserves it, but he needs to learn fast in how to get us over the line in games like this.

I’ve read the book and I love the family vibe about the club but perhaps he’s not ruthless enough?

He’s lost every big game since he’s been here.

I think Ancelotti would win trophies with us for example

City away?
Chelsea away?
Real Madrid (home and away)?

Were these not big games?!?

Which resulted in what? Best of the rest perhaps?

I love the man and to be honest I’ll take top 4 and the chance of a final appearance one day every season but, he loses games that lead to trophies.
