Just food for thought:

Since Poch got here, Spurs have been in 3 Cup Semi-Finals.

Only Liverpool and Chelsea, with 4 each, have been in more Domestic Cup semi-finals in that time period.
Who cares? Is this a new way of measuring success? I couldn’t give a monkeys if he’s reached every semi final since he’s joined us. Give me 1 semi leading to a cup win over constant semi final failures.....

Bad result, yes, bad team no. The fact we’re pissed to be losing to Man U managed by Jose Mourinho with one of the most expensive squads in history shows how far we’ve come under this manager.

Mourinho wrote the book on winning cup competitions, the histrionics and late substitutions killed us dead after 75 minutes, was that an accident?

Poch is the best thing that has happened to this club in two generations and the abuse he’s got on this thread is shameful, you’re either Arsenal infiltrators to SC or deserve to be wearing red. They’ve just driven the most successful manager in PL history out the door, just rock up down their place they’ll be happy to have you.

Success isn’t just about winning a trophy, it’s balanced against where you’ve come from. We had Tim Sherwood managing us a few years ago, let that sink in, Tim Sherwood, with a squad in complete disarray and we were a complete laughing stock.

We don’t have the money that any of the top 6 have, not even close, yet we consistently play at that level punching far above our weight.

Now we’ve challenged for the league, beaten Arsenal on the pitch and in the league, played amazing footballl, rattled the general order of things to the point that the media stabs us in the back any chance they can. They don’t like a team in ‘red’ outside the top 4.....yet that’s not enough for you lot, you back them up with your horse s**t comments. Poch sees this, he’s shown that this weekend and he’s not happy.

Fine, if you can’t back the man and show some respect and patience you aren’t Spurs, you don’t know why Glory is, you don’t know where we’ve come from and cannot for a second see where we are going if we keep this guy at the helm. Back Poch, back the team and keep your stupid comments to yourself or risk losing them, cos if Poch goes so will most of the squad and pretty much everything that has been built too.

Freedom to have an opinion comes with the responsibility to know when to keep your trap shut FFS.
yeah I'm sorry, but this is just blind ranting and raving. as well as we have done under Pochettino, he still has his glaring weaknesses that it's ok to be critical about and still be supportive at the same time. fair enough you'd like to bury your head in the sand and pretend everything is ok, it's entirely your right to do so. but not everyone has to think like you do.

this virtue-signalling is THE most annoying thing about Spurs fans to me. not having a bad word to say, no matter the circumstances, doesn't make you a better fan than anyone else.

no it doesn't, it just means we've been in semi-finals.

you have to take your opportunities when they come, and not just assume they'll present themselves again later on down the line when it suits your narrative. it's not how football or life works.

we played AFC Wimbledon, Newport, Rochdale, and Swansea to get to the semi-final. last year we had Villa, Wycombe, Fulham and Millwall. we really couldn't have picked a better set of fixtures if we'd done the draws ourselves. who's to say we'll keep getting easy draws like this?

These past 20 pages have been hilarious.

I'll be honest, I was still a bit down after saturday, but reading this thread has cheered me up, because I realise that I am not some of you and that is something to be thankful for

Thank you.

Edit. Oh and in the wise words of A&C....Jesus Christ.

It's incredibly frustrating we've not taken our chances to win something in the last 3 years but the fact we are have even been in contention is, in my opinion, almost entirely down to Poch. Personally I think this group of players is much more limited than people realise, its incredible we have been so competative in the league, CL and FA cup. He's not perfect but I dont think i'd swap him for anyone given our budget.

I love Poch and sincerely hope that he gets backed to the hilt over the next few years. No more sissokos, Njies, Nkodou, Trippier and Janssens of the world. We’ve moved on now, we need proven quality which inevitably cost big bucks.

Pretty sure Poch wanted a few of those players, we've been backing him but the issue has always been how much we are willing to pay players.

Imagine how much of a shit storm Mourinho or Conte would have kicked up if this is what they had to work with!

They wouldn't take the job in the first place, knowing what restrictions they'd be under.
This is what makes the 'Poch out, Ancelotti/Conte/Simeone/etc in' in comments even more daft.

But it's buying players within the budget you've got. If he's got 10M and £50K a week to spend on a tricky fast wide forward, that's how he ends up taking a punt on Clinton NJie.

Its been said that if you don't complain it does not make you a better supporter; this is true but the reverse is fans that are forever complaining and finding fault are feeding the anti spurs brigade to an extent that all I seem to hear as pessimistic views bordering on sounding like they are Chelsea/gooners/West Ham fans in disguise. What I suggest is that these so called fans who are forever picking holes with anti spurs rhetoric should transfer there allegiance to the Harry Hotspur site they will be well at home there because there is never a positive lead; and if you say something positive you are soon shot down and ridiculed as a happy clapper.
As a spurs supporter since 1951 we have had good times for most of the sixties ;for a short time in the 70s;for 6 years in the eighties and since the 80s we had a cup in the 90s and after a couple of league cups .I desperately want spurs success but it is not going to come if fans can manage to get posh out of the club as that what most of these moaners seem intent on achieving.
I confess to being very very happy with the way the club is heading and see nothing but success in the future so call me a happy clapper I don't mind .At least I am not being two faced and calling myself a fan but constantly picking holes in the players ;the manager the chairman and having a go at fans for being behind whats going on as I say either move to the HarryHotspur site or go back to your sooner/cheatski or wet spam sites and stop pretending to be fans

You might be trying to push water uphill there Buckley...

People come in all different shapes and forms - many fans are frustrated, and many others are very contented. There are some, like me, that swing both ways... That won't change.

We need to back him - the board need to back him heavily. We are so bloody close and that is why it is so frustrating to fall short again but I honestly do not think anybody could do a better job than him with the resources available up until now.

This summer is the biggest one in decades imo - the club need to properly spend big.

Pochettino does not need more money. His way of doing things and way of competing has not been built on big money. It's hard work, intensity, young hungry players, and forging a mindset where they will go out there, give 110% and run through brick walls.

What he needs is to stick to this approach even more, apply it as close to 100% as he possibly can, and be even more ruthless. There are still gaps in the squad that need addressing, but personally I don't think you need to strive for like for like quality - take Kane's backup for instance, what you need is someone hungry who can offer high energy for 90 mins and with a die for the cause attitude, rough up defences and allow the Eriksen's, Alli's, Son's etc to take advantage of it. And if players have lost that hunger after a few years, then it's got to be bye bye.

I also think that as a collective some of the standards in terms of what we do, the press/work rate/intensity etc, have dipped a bit, or certainly been a bit more inconsistent than the last couple of seasons.

Or we could just focus on supposed marquee players.....
