Hopefully the negativity that has invaded SC over the past few weeks will now kindly fuck off (y)

Is he perfect? No. Is he perfect for us? Yes, I believe so.

He's magic you know.

He looks completely shattered at the moment. Desperately in need of a good holiday, and recharging the batteries. Let's just hope it doesn't involved too much pondering his future.

Haven't seen that but I do have a feeling he won't be with us next season. The vibe over the past month. Maybe the players know he's off too which has impacted on the pitch. Probably not. However, he has successfully fulfilled the brief of his original contract: to deliver regular champions league football moving in to the new stadium. I am very likely completely wrong and hopefully he is at the helm for the next chapter of the club. COYS.

No question in my mind he will be here. Ultimately he has one of the top 10 jobs in European football. Jobs like spurs don’t come along everyday. He knows he could stay here for another 10 years and build something special. The only real alternatives are PSG which looks taken and Madrid, but zidane ain’t going nowhere off back if another CL. And if he did take one of those jobs, if he failed I doubt he’d get another big big job. I think the comments are just tiredness after a long season and the not winning something obviously bothers him and is getting a bit embarrassing for his own personal CV. As posted in another thread 3rd would be our best run of finishes since Bill Nic, I think he is just tired of constant negative questions.

Fantastic achievement to get CL again having played every game away this season. Would love Poch to sign up long term to continue to build on what we now have. Seems like he has a good relationship with Levy which some previous Managers have struggled with. I wouldn't want anyone else.

Having said that, by God he knows how to put us through the wringer at times with selections, tactics, substitutions. Last night was probably the most obvious example since he's been here. I know we had some players out but a CM2 of Wanyama (way out of form) and Sissoko was the stuff of nightmares. The only time we looked the least bit assured in MF was when Eriksen dropped back to pick the ball up, so why not start him there? Foyth is a much more composed footballer than Sissoko who spent most of the game hiding so that we had no link from back to front. 433 would have covered the deficiencies much better IMO. Sissoko also gave away the free kick from which they hit the post because of a clumsy challenge. Moura, yet again, spent the evening on the bench when he's been the only real bright spark for the past few weeks. Son looked like he was pissed and Alli looked largely disinterested. How can you not be up for a game like that? Hopefully an influx of new blood can get us back in order for next year.

It IS a fantastic achievement. I think the hurt of the cup semi and CL against juventus has dampened the season a bit for me, but on reflection its been amazing. I dont know many other teams that would stand a chance of playing in the CL playing 38 away games in a season.

Very good point, and if he were to go to any other of those top 10 jobs, he wouldn't have anywhere near as much credit in the bank with the board (and most fans) as he does here at Spurs.

It’s a weird situation for him tbh. Although he continues to enhance his reputation. I still think a big big club would think twice because of no trophy. And in reality he’s options are less than 10. I just couldn’t see city going for him if pep left, Liverpool just doesn’t seem right. Chelsea maybe united maybe. Barca he’s ruled out. So that just leaves PSG or Madrid maybe Bayern but unlikely. So really he only has 4/5 options. And you’d even debate if Chelsea is actually a bigger or better option than us now.

Agreed. I'm presuming it's largely troll led, but the amount of **** written about Poch, Harry and others has been ridiculous in recent weeks. Anyway, onwards and upwards and into our new home with CL.

If you read his book he mentions Chelsea as an even bigger rival than Arsenal right now, so you could probably rule that out similar to Arse and Barca.

Kinda agree, but I can also understand when you perform very well and become a bit of a victim of your own success.

I think he went a bit too heavy about it, hopefully it was just the pressure speaking, he must have known it was getting a bit desperate.

He definitely needs to tone it down a bit, pushing for realism too often can trickle down. Yes were are outmatched in resources but team is very competitive.
Good points, I think he’ll become more optimistic in the media once in the new stadium and if Daniel Levy gives him some half decent dosh to play with. If not he will continue his rehtoric and he will als leave. I think he’ll stay and win things with us.

I swear to god if I start seeing the term "tactically inept" I'm gonna lose my shit. We've already started seeing "Can he take us to the next level?"

Shades of BMJ's last months in charge, and look at the shite we had to put up with after him. Not since BMJ have we had a manager that has given us an identity, and has restored pride in our club.

Some of our "fans" really are a disgrace.

Here here!

There are things to look at and improve (recruitment for one) but Poch is doing a fine job.

For me personally I would prefer more youth development and less Sissoko. However people forget we have had Winks out for half a season, an injury ravaged Dembele and Wanyama. That's our midfield (barring Dier) that's been devastated.

We have done very well and can you really blame Poch for a downturn in form, I mean if you were a player and you know your team battered the Italian champions but still lost and the narrowly lost to your rivals to lose out on two cups. It's hard to get that motivation back.

Poch stays, the players stay and we sign a fucking world class creative central midfielder.

Great achievement from Poch and the team. All things considered it has been an excellent season.

Our ethos for next season needs to be "Brave Football" both on and off the pitch.
I hope Poch learns from this season and he finds a way to affect the game better. Great managers realize when something is not right are willing to make the change early in the game to rectify it.

Bring on the CL, fun times ahead...
Will definitely be making the trip from New Zealand to watch a game at our new stadium.

Not only is he a fantastic football manager, he is a lovely guy.

Poch is the 9th longest serving manager in Premier League/English league. Only Dyche and Howe have been at their clubs longer, this is all after Wenger retires

It just goes to show how long managers last these days!

It's largely been a forgettable season. A few great results and two-three outstanding matches, but loads of mundane footie week in week out.
HOWEVER, 3 CLs in a row on is, on an aggregated basis, phenomenal! :woot:

There's talk of Paul Tisdale and Jim Bentley leaving their clubs in the summer as well which would see Poch jump to 7th if it happens. And in that case the longest serving manager in the top four leagues would be Gareth Ainsworth at Wycombe, barely two years more than Poch.

It's weird not having any of those long-lasting managers around any more. Growing up it was always someone like Dario Gradi, then Ferguson, then Wenger. There's nobody like that left.
