I was going to say I hope you’re right but I’m not sure throwing money at players is necessarily the right thing.

I get your point. It is about throwing it at the right players. The challenge is, they HAVE to back Poch. So pray he gets it right.

I guess this is the hard bit of any player acquisition. It’s just if you look at some of our best players (Kane, Eriksen, Alli, Jan, Tobi, Dier) they didn’t cost us very much so sometimes the right player can be a cheaper option but I guess Poch is looking at players who are already established and in their prime, perhaps? I just hope the right player isn’t another Sissoko.

I actually think the Comments from Poch are not 'give me a massive war chest or I'm off'. I think he is asking Levy to get the business done early, get rid of players he doesn't want instantly even if it means losing money on them. Get the players Poch wants before pre-season so he can start early. Poch has been on back foot at the start of last 3 seasons. COYs. Go on Daniel you know it makes sense.

I'm not a fan of this obsession with money. If we need to spend then so be it, but we shouldn't be spending £150m for the sake of it. This is especially the case on guff like Nkoudou, Llorente and Sissoko where we could have used academy players.
Money needs to be spent on the necessary areas (midfield and left back) but really I couldn't care less how much we spend as long as we get the right players for each role. Dier and Alli cost us a combined £8.5m.
