He has to be diplomatic and keep them sweet. We'd all love him to mug them off but it's never going to happen.
There's better ways of being polite to them without mugging them off, but at the same time being less ambiguous in your commitment to Tottenham though.

They're after Klopp according to the news outlets today. Our leader is safe for now. I'd have to abandon this site for a day and browse rawk if that happens. Nothing funnier than a irate scouser.

What about the prior quote, 'I've just renewed at Tottenham and I'm very happy'.

Dear media outlets, especially Sky who ran with both Madrid and Chelsea stories:

The book with Balague will be fine, they said.
It won't cause any problems, they said.
Just a little book that won't come back to bite us, they said.

That’s not the best thing to say ?

Makes it sound like he’d like to go but won’t. To be honest, that’s probably being truthful anyway. Who wouldn’t like to manage Madrid in all honesty?
That answer in isolation does make it look like he's almost saying he's being kept at Spurs against his will - but it makes more sense in context of the line of questioning:

Q. Do you have a clause in your contract which allows you to move to Real?
Poch : No

Q. Do you have a verbal agreement with the chairman which would allow you to go to Real?
Poch: No

Q. Will you attempt to force a move to Real if they approach you?
Poch: That would be disrespectful to Daniel Levy.

Yeah imagine if it was Chelsea coming in for him and he said ‘it would be disrespectful to Levy to leave’. We’d be up in arms about that because it sounds like he’d go there if he could. But it’s sort of acceptable because it’s Madrid. It’s probably the top job in world football.

And yep it does look a bit better in context @razor1981 ?

We all here suspect he'll end up at RM one day! He's keeping them sensibly informed of his future wishes whilst staying/progressing with Spurs. The only way he doesn't end up there is if we start winning the Elite trophies regularly and get a massive amount of spending power, it's possible.
Good news is, he's here now.

Jesus christ ....talksport has poch going and taken harry kane with him now lol ......looking at it differently if rm really do decide poch is their man and make a push. Levy is surely in check to basically get poch every player he wants

This whole saga brings up a massive issue...he will go at some point, like all managers do. It doesn’t matter where, but he will. The task of the club is to make sure all the systems and setup that he’s helped put in place stay and what he’s built continues without him with the next manager/coach.

I do hope we are succession planning in some way.

reminds me of a few years back when Levy issued as categorical denial as anyone ever could that he'd never sell Modric to Chelsea. Talksport played the interview and Sam Matterface (i think) immediately (and I mean within seconds) started talking about where Modric would fit into the chelsea midfield.

You have to take a special moron test before you work for Talksport

It's just Perry Groves trolling mate, he was just telling Chelsea fans how yesterday's events are the beginning of the end for Chelsea, they were furious....he's pretty good at it tbh, it's funny.
