Klopp said in an interview that he was approached before by utd, but that it was more about the show than football and that he didn't think he'd be comfortable there. Madrid is the ultimate show so can't really see him going.

I'd actually not want him to go. Yes it would hurt liverpool but i like that the best managers are in the prem. want the prem to be the biggest and best league on the planet.
Nah fuck that Baz, Liverpool are a threat and id like to see them weakened.
And the meltdown Baz, just think of that sweet, sweet meltdown.

New member coming over from COYS. Hi everyone.

I feel there is a real possibillity he could leave. One job that would be impossible to turn down is the Real one. The contract means nothing.

The meltdown would be great.

If he does go i would laugh.

Just want la liga to suffer too leaving the prem as top dog and hopefully us winning it.

No one is really worried are they? Everything about Mauricio is class, loyalty and the project. Plus he'll happily admit he's still learning. RM is a job you do once your career has trophies in the cabinet, he won't leave us until that's done with us imho

Am I the only one who pissed off by Pochs response?
The Germany manager Low was also linked with the job, his reply and I quote " I can completey rule it out"
Why couldnt Poch just come out and say that?
I'm hoping that he's being clever and using this as a ploy against Levy! Back me or let me go, he could get on the phone to Levy and say that he wants a, y and z and Levy would have to bend over backwards!
I for one dont believe that this is over, they will approach him and we'll have to see where his priorities truly lie.
I really hope that he stays, but its not a job that can be turned down easily

New member coming over from COYS. Hi everyone.

I feel there is a real possibillity he could leave. One job that would be impossible to turn down is the Real one. The contract means nothing. He has big ambitions, Guliame Ballague has said that many times in interwiews, and he knows Poch well after the book. So I believe he has aspirations to one day become Real manager. This might have been two-three years before he feels he is ready, and that COULD be a saving factor for us. That and the fact that he does not feel he is finished with us.

But then again, there is time for a generation-shift at Real, and that could prove to be too tempting for him.

I hope he stays for 20 years, but fear we could loose him now!

Welcome to sc. if houdini offers to give you a tour just say no. Also read the rules for the itk thread. Everywhere else is moderated with a soft touch but in there you have to be careful or you will be introduced to a&c's ban stick.

I know what you mean, but Liverpool are becoming a force and will improve again next year. They don’t fuck around in the transfer market either and anything that can knock their progress back is very much welcomed by me.

From the Guardian article linked above:

Pochettino was then asked if he was “ready for a challenge like Real Madrid”, to which he responded:"Right now I am ready to go to lunch. I’m looking forward to going back to London.”

You and me both, brother. You and me both.

As he has said his loyalties are with us and his contract, he has already said just a few ours ago Madrid is a team he can refuse. He will be with us next season but he has played a blinder here, he has payed the ground work to inspire our big players to sign new contracts, Kane, Eriksen and all must be thinking “if Poch believes in us and the club enough to reject Real, we should be on board too”, now the buck is passed to Levy to tie the contracts down, within reason ofc. As long as a club we keep showing ambition and back our team and manager, I believe we can keep this squad together.

I've always had a firm belief that Poch's next job will be at his former club PSG. I have some family who have been around that club for a long time and get info every now and then. PSG covet Poch but are willing to wait for just now and maintain good relations with us. For Poch it makes a lot of sense as PSG could be the one super rich club where the ownership would give him more time to install his ideas and methods, and he would be under less strenuous pressure than he would be at Madrid.

Not worried about Madrid at all.

I think Poch is sat somewhere, down some cobbled Barcelona side street, sucking the heads of a plate of La Gambas and quaffing a temperate Rioja, happy with his day's work.

We have already been approached, and Levy and Poch have told them to f*** off, well Poch was probably a bit more diplomatic. No doubt in a couple of years if the climate is right Poch will be on their list again, but for now he is not going anywhere.

As long as he believes that Levy will support his project he won't leave us. He would still be in Southampton if they supported him and never sacked Cortese.

Hope Levy hasn’t been too impolite and scuppered our chances of signing Bale ;)
