He has signed a 5 year contract worth £40m over that period. He has an exciting young team on long contracts. He aint going to throw his toys out of the pram bacause he didn't get who he wanted in the transfer window.

He might though, IF he feels the assurances he was given by Levy, at the end of last season, aren't met. Of course, I have no idea what assurances he was given, but I remember a quite dark atmosphere over his continuation in the job at that time.

Speaking purely as guess work, I think the issue with Poch *may* have been based on players wages and retaining key players, which Levy has appeared to have dealt with..so far.

If Utd came knocking at the door..I'd get very worried indeed, as he is exactly what they need..

For the record I am hoping you are 100% correct with the comments you stated.

Paying a fortune for a quite good player is not being brave, holding your nerve in any deal's arse clenching time takes a fair level of bravery, anyone who has actually tried to close a big deal on your own terms would know that.

And if Pochettino meant being brave was to blood youngsters, the club should have highlighted that instead of take fans on a bit of a merry go round at a time where they were trying to sell season tickets.
Who said anything about blooding youngsters?
I was referring to making Harry Kane one of the highest paid strikers in the league.

If you, or anyone else bought a season ticked based on your interpretation of a quote from a guy who's first language isn't even English, then I'm not sure what to say to you.

If we buy no one, then I'll be first to ask questions, but there's still plenty of time left so dry your eyes until then.

Except it's not just a pay rise is it?, it makes Harry Kane one of the highest earning strikers in the league, for a club with the 5th/6th highest revenue.
Pretty damn brave if you ask me.

Look, you've nailed your colours to the wall, I've no problem with that, but to just dismiss the possibility that there is any other interpretation of Pochs comments is very blinkered imo.

I don't think I'm the one being blinkered here. The context of Poch's 'be brave, take risks' quote was that of improving from one season to the next. That doesn't necessarily equate to emptying the club coffers, but I think the meaning quite clearly extends beyond merely keeping your existing players, Harry Kane or otherwise.

Maybe....just maybe ''being brave'' meant increasing the wage structure and signing off on new contracts before the finances got boosted by the new stadium

Maybe :cautious:

I do genuinely think we've fucked this window up completely but I'll reserve my meltdown until after it actually closes.
Not having a go at your comments, however waiting till after the window for your meltdown will not have any bearing on levy TW strategy. You can add or subtract by 2 years and our transfer strategy will always remain the same as long as Levy is still involved.

I have had to work on my expectations when it comes to our TW strategy to ensure I leave my emotions out of it.

Im not struggling with anything bud.
Im quite happy tbh, keeping our best players and manager was the most important thing to me and that seems all sewed up.

If you were expecting loads of massive signings then you're just naive mate, we were told by Poch the new stadium wouldn't instantly mean loads of cash to spend, but you've completely ignored that havent you?

It shouldn’t really be about keeping them though, it should be more about keeping them happy and invested. No one knows what was suggested or even promised to the manager or the players that have signed an extension but You honestly think our best players and I’ll include the manager as well are going to be looking at our business and think these guys mean business, they’re really going to try and challenge for trophies. There’s only so much you can milk these players before they start to question things. Even a 5% drop off in mentality and intensity could have a big effect on performance.

Donna Cullen just defended the criticism of Levy with a written statement on SSN.
Coincidental timing with everything transfer wise up in the air.
Also said that MP is very calm with the club dealings ?

Are you talking about the interview she has given and Sky were reading from it? Why would she give Sky a written statement about the the club and Levy and the transfer dealings?

This forum lately ...

Well Harry Kane seemed quite content to sign a new 6 year deal, Poch signed a new deal as well...surely if they weren't confident with the direction we're heading they'd have both held fire for at least the summer to see how things pan out.
They both had a few years left on their contracts and were in no rush to extend, yet they both did.

Maybe they did so because they have a much better understanding of the situation, and the entire business in general than angry, impatient fans do on the internet.

Calm down luv, there’s a chance I didn’t know about her interview, and only just saw the SSN piece, which is the case, I’m not panicking or throwing toys, just stating it’s timing when fans are getting worried we won’t strengthen...

Honestly this forum and knee jerk responses lately ?
