Since only the most optimistic wouldn't view this as Poch in damage control, it makes you wonder who Levy actually would back.

Tbf she definately didn’t have to do an interview, and I’m sure she does events all the time without doing interviews. This was to attempt to appease or at least just explain the situation in response to growing pressure.
Also she did say “He would say what he said was not about going out and spending money.” which he has now refused to do. I find it he’d to believe he wouldn’t have seen that interview so it seems like a pretty deliberate message.

The hope we are close on some unknown targets has been smashed by Poch there. That's his way of saying nothing is anywhere near close whereas last year we were a long way down the line with a few of them.

In all honesty, how can a club in the Champions League struggle to make any signings before the season kicks off. Shocking info and for Poch to not clarify his being brave statement it really is telling. I expect more from a team giving it plenty of talk

The main problem is, I don't know why, Poch seems to accept the fact and the Levy's tactics. Of course we don't know most of the things happening in the backstage. But this is not what I would expect for a team calling "rising" again and again. No matter how difficult it could be, there is absolutely no excuse not to sign even one single player

Forget the fans who have just shipped out a massive increase in season ticket costs, he's being let down right now no two ways about it. He's the reason we are where we are and he's in interview saying he doesn't know if we'll sign anyone. It's embarrassing.
Is it more to do with we stil don’t know how many will be leaving?
It is still unclear if we will be losing Rose, Alderweireld, Dembele, NKoudou, Llorente.
I imagine that will decide if we sign 0 or 4 as I can’t see Levy wanting the window closing with us having a surplus and having to do cheap deals to get rid of them.

When Poch says “I don’t know” at a press conference, I always hear “I don’t want to tell you”. He’s not Harry, he keeps the press at arms length.
