Just trying to think of the absolute carnage in this place if we literally signed nobody come the end of the window...

..and sold Toby to United on deadline day...

Not subjective at all!!!
Some things best not to elaborated on.

Understand you can’t elaborate.

I meant it’s subjective insofar as Levy might feel he’s done all he can, Poch might feel he hasn’t been backed - I don’t see how you could break a contract on the back of that.

Thanks for your continued sharing though, it really is fascinating, although I did prefer the positive excitable Herc of circa may/June 2018!

Very worried that the warnings of a bumpy ride refer to the potential fallout from a failed transfer window. Beginning with Poch we could see what has been painstakingly built fall like a house of cards. Poch I can't see ever being happy with the club just treading water; for him there must be progression. If others progress more then so be it, he can't influence that, but I suspect he will not accept improvement.
Tieing down Kane on a new is year deal which breaks the wages ceiling, plus the other core players committing is a massive gesture of support for this journey which is now in to a fourth year. A fourth year which could well be the year where all the caveats fall right for silverware or title.

I think evidentially Herc, along with Poch, were given a lot of false hope around that time about how ambitious the club were going to be in the transfer window

I thought Donna Cullen saying Poch's words were mis-interpreted was a silly and unnecessary thing to say. And I wouldn't be surprised if he was annoyed at it.

That said, I think our fanbase is OTT negative on the lack of activity. We have a very good squad and the last thing we want to do is add dross - or sell quality - just for the sake of activity. Let's see how things stand 10 August. I still have faith Levy will pull out the cheque book if one or two players Poch really wants are attainable.

Would you stop supporting Spurs if it did? I always wonder if people would fuck it all off on the back of no signings and the things that might come with it.

To come back to your impressionist style thought, to be honest it's getting towards carnage anyway, most threads are awash with negativity, doubt, fear and the onset of early e-rage. It's a tinderbox.

Nothing new really being a Spurs fan after all these years. ;)

Course not - obvious answer really. However it would be extremely disappointing / infuriating.

Being a Spurs fan wouldn't be the same if it wasn't for chaos and panic at least a handful of times each season!

Nothing changes for me personally, even during this period (under Poch) Spurs as a club have been questioned every year by the press both written and spoken and by chunks of our fanbase. The outlook, even when it has seemed bright, still seems to have that cloud just waiting to burst, and piss over every thing.

Be grand to have something positive to pin our collective colours too, shame there isn't a great deal of it about!

No matter how many times you break my heart
I couldn't do it, it's always tickled me though when people get to the end of their piece of string and threaten to do, yet there they are a week later doing it all over again.

The things we say as supporters!

We'll probably sign absolutely nobody this window or January, go onto win the league and Levy will think that's the winning formula, consequenting in us never signing another player under his reign as chairman :)

Well, if the meltdown was already heading towards being truly special, that's probably given it the push it needed to take it into the realms of unparalleled epicness.

For those of you who like to have some serious emotional angst about your football team, here's a summing up of what appears to be ruining the most beautiful summer we've had in decades for you:

We're selling at least two of your favourite players.
We're not capable of signing anybody, even the crap players you don't want but would happily see if it meant we'd actually signed someone.
We're keeping your least favourite players.
Some of our best players haven't had new contracts announced, so might be thinking about leaving if we don't sign some good players.
Our best manager in decades will leave soon if we don't sign some good players.
Mr Levy doesn't seem to want to spend the money it takes to sign the really good players.
We're not capable of signing anybody, even crap players, so how can we possibly be about to sign someone we'd have to pay a lot of money for.
Something about home-grown squad numbers. Whatever the fuck it is that's making grown men cry like little girls.

In short, we're selling everybody, buying nobody and Poch's about to walk. Our youth players are all leaving or shit, our rivals are all better than us, and the new stadium is possibly not going to be ready in time for our first scheduled game there. It's pretty much all there.

This is going to be awesome.

I hope we sign someone, we'll see.

I honestly can't believe we would risk agitating Pochettino after what this man has accomplished for us.

FFS, look how far we've come under him and the man oozes class, absolutely so proud that he represents our Club and the upward trajectory he has us on is remarkable.

And people in the upper corridors of the Club are making these 'political moves' in the media - fucking pathetic imo.

The man should of been backed, and backed properly - Jesus he's earned it.

Yes, still time to go, but if we lose Pochettino in a season's time we'll all know where the beginning of the end started to unravel.

Don't sign anyone and the club risks losing poch, the players and as a result of that, the fans who spent shitloads on season tickets.

Pack it in then boys - it's Antonio on deadline day.

There's no way back for Levy if he doesn't back our best manager since Nicholson, it would be criminal. We're always on the cusp of something great then it gets ripped a part some way or another.

I wonder if this window would have played out differently if Poch had said he would sign a new contract only after signings had been made?
Rather than the current assurances clause.

Someone is not going to be happy at the end of this window and I’m huessing it’s more likely to be Poch than a pennyless Levy.

If Poch doesn't get his promised, agreed upon Marquee signings... we're doomed. Maybe not this year, but certainly the next.

This would be the single greatest failure in DL's tenure. Monumentally ignorant not to back the best manager we've seen in 30 plus years.

Tick tock, tick tock...over to you Daniel.

(I hope to God that interview today from DC was not a direct attempt at posturing our manager and expected transfer policy this year)
