The irony of any poster on this site intimating that Levy might not see see the big picture...

In this particular scanario it looks as if he hasn’t. He’s not God. He’s made some brilliant decisions and will leave an amazing legacy. But even great leaders can be undone by their own stubbornness.

Probably the worst thing will be that the team performances will most likely reflect Poch's mood, that will be disastrous for our season, we already have a large number of first teamers knackered from a relentless 12 months and now it looks as though there'll be no incomings to take the pressure off them!! This really isn't good!!

His body language against Leicester on last day of the season said a lot, he was sat in his seat pretty much the whole game which is so unlike him. You could tell something was not right and then of course it was followed by that outburst in the press conference afterwards. It is unlikely to be different come Newcastle if there is no change in personnel by then.

Yep I agree.

I think he's saying that whilst he is sure the youngsters would step-up, that shouldn't have to be the case.

Seems fairly clear that promises were made to Poch and whilst we don't know the full reasons behind why they aren't being kept, they indeed haven't been kept so far.

Yes there's a week to go, but I'd now be very surprised if we did more business than maybe one in and one out. And that's not enough for where Levy seems to want us to be.

If it stays as it is, we best hope that no big teams lose their managers this season as otherwise I suspect Poch will jump ship, and to be honest I wouldn't blame him.

If your interpretation is correct and some are good enough to step up how else will they get their chance ?

I fear that will fall on deaf ears

I could see him quitting before the season at this point like Pulis did at Palace. And i wouldnt blame him at all. Levy gives him absolutely no backing whatsoever. He got duped into signing a new contract by Levy. We need to be sold ASAP if we want any chance of being back where we are now any time soon. No manager will ever want to manage us after seeing the way Levy treats the best manager we’ve had in years. Disgusting. Get the FUCK out of my club, Levy.

This is just daft to be fair.

Yes things on the transfer side have been poor for a while, but when Levy came into the club nobody could have imagined we'd be where we are now, so to say he's 'disgusting' is just silly.

Criticism is fair enough where it's due, and if his nonsense leads to Poch leaving then that will be a big big black mark against his achievements.

But your post is way OTT...potentially even agenda driven.

One (of many) worrying aspect from Pochettino's comments is that while its clear he wants reinforcements and additions to the squad, we're obviously not at all close to signing anyone. So while we only have 6 days to go, it looks almost certain that nothing is going to be announced in the next 3.

I've often defended Levy but his approach to player trading has become outdated now that so many clubs have money and proceeds from player sales represent only a small % of many clubs' revenues. I'll be surprised if we see any ins/outs of note at the club before Thursday.

They have to be good enough to step into a team that wants to be challenging for the title.

The fact of the matter is that in the position we find ourselves, only the very best youngsters will deserve to get a chance.

Cup competitions/loans/emergency injury cover. That's where they will get their chances, but we are talking about players the quakity of Kane and Alli that need to come through...not the likes of Onomah etc.

‘The irony of a mere human daring to criticise Daniel Levy! All hail Levy!’

It's like catholics with the pope, he is infallible to some. It's ok to think that Levy is a very good chairman and overall has done a great job while also recognising that his approach to transfer dealings is starting to look very outdated indeed and could end up costing us far more than his frugality will ever save.

Levy built us to a top 5/6 club. Poch had us punching above our weight. No we’re much more likely to be falling down past the top 5/6 after this summer. It is high time Levy fucks off. He’s single hadedly ruining what we have because he’s more risk averse than someone not investing in the stock market because there deathly afraid of losing.

Would you prefer the Sugar or Scholar Era's where we were more often than not competing with the Leicester's and Blackburn's of the world to try and get in the top half? Or are you happier with continually finishing top 5-6 building amazing facilities and a state of the art stadium... Yes Poch took us from 5th to title challenging but that work started with levy and as much as we cant lose Poch and its frustrating we cant just throw silly money around like City and Liverpool Levy has done a hell of a lot more for YOUR CLUB than you ever will. Have you Considered supporting City? I hear money is no issue there so you wouldn't have these problems that upset you so much?

We need to make our purchases now, not piss around haggling.
With the players that are surplus/shite they can go to the clubs with the extended window.
The club will have to take a hit on the poor purchases.
Buy cheap buy twice!!

I'm not sure there are actually that many people who think Levy is infallible.

I think most would realise that he has made many mistakes over his term in charge, and he is still making them today.

But it is 100% fact that we are a better team now than when he took over. Much much better in fact.

So when people's criticism (most of which is justified) spills over into abuse and vitriol, it just looks childish to be honest.

Mind you if Levy lets Poch go then I'll be hear calling him a wank-pheasant with the rest of you.

Consequence of zero adaption by Levy & Enic to a change in circumstance.

They had the sense to tie Poch down before they act like the best thing to do in difficult climates is to do literally nothing.

If Levy ends this window without having made proper investment in the squad he’s risking disharmony, a disillusioned manager and squad, and angry supporters.
Still ‘if’ though. There are still a few days left. Don’t get me wrong, I would have loved a few signings in already, and I may be in the minority not to go full tilt at Levy yet, but he’s a business man and as few ITK’s have pointed out, he’s obviously well aware that signings will have to be made before the window closes (whether it’s for commercial or football reasons). The positive exposure we’ll get from our new stadium will be completely overshadowed by supporter’s unrest over lack of signings. Please keep calm and trust our chairman. Reserve the rants for when the window closes.

Poch has often said that he and Daniel Levy speak every day so I’m certain he knows what is happening and how hard it is to get players in and I’m also sure he wouldn’t throw his toys out of the pram and quit over a difficult transfer window. He just signed a long term contract and he’s got a good team already.

I think the word 'poppycock' was designed for posts exactly like this one.

If you honestly believe that then I think you've been supporting a different club for the last 20 years.
