Can't really say that Wimmer was a successful signing by the fact we managed to sell him.

Poch has made it clear he doesn't want any squad fillers, only players who can push the first team. That's why we're not doing a Chelsea and buying loads of young players who "might" one day make a difference, as that's what the academy is seen to cover
If we quadrupled what we spent off a player that wasn't good enough to play for us, I'd say thats a pretty successful deal right there.

I think we should have two priorities this year - top 4 and league cup. These are doable, Maybe the fa cup. CL is a let's see how things pan out affair.

Maybe that's why cute hoor Levy didn't invest big money into players this summer as he knows Poch b gone next year.

Maybe, and Levy knows a new manager will want some spending money of his own.

Interesting article from Jenas.

'I agree with Mauricio Pochettino when he says it is fine that Tottenham did not sign anyone this summer - but what does concern me is who could still leave, and how Spurs can keep their manager happy.

Pochettino was right to point to the positives of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min recently signing new long-term deals, and with Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli both in talks over new contracts it looks like two more big names will be sticking around as well.

But Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele are still being mentioned as available to move elsewhere in Europe this month.'

It appears he shares the same concerns that I do.

Man Utd will be all over him like a fat kid on a cupcake.

Reading through Poch’s conference transcript this afternoon, it really seems as though a few cracks are starting to appear.

He sounded really down and disappointed with the stadium situation despite full on spin to pronounce the positives.

Reiterating last week’s message that the fans need to stay together is telling but his opening line that he feels sorry for himself first of all is the first time I’ve heard that.

This just feels like the beginning of strained relationships in what has been a very positive ride for the last three/four seasons.

The new stadium will be worth the wait and I hope that the club is getting targets set for January now. Poch needs some appeasing imo

Here's the actual interview. His line about feeling sorry for himself is delivered with a smile and a slight chuckle, and I saw it as an attempt to inject a little humor into what is an otherwise grim and disappointing topic. He wasn't really saying he feels sorry more for himself than anyone else, and I don't think it's a reason to think Mommy and Daddy are getting a divorce.

I agree. He doesn't seem that despondent to me either.

Although I think it's rather appalling that Poch is the one who has to face stadium questions. Levy or Cullen should have been the ones BRAVE enough to face the media on that aspect.

I gave this a winner - but quite frankly, I know DC should not be speaking for the club, and I don't think Levy is much better than Cullen.

You're right Poch shouldn't have to answer the questions but honestly Poch is better and more experienced at it than either of them by a country mile and I would imagine they know that and hence why it is done that way. Putting Levy and Cullen in front of the Qs would just piss more people off.

You're probably right. A statement offering lots of detail and designed to fend off some questions Poch had to face would have been nice though.

Just hope Poch doesn't get fed up with it all.

Poch was always going to be asked about the stadium no matter how detailed a statement the club released. The press are always going to look for an angle about how it might be affecting the team.

He came across brilliantly in this press conference saying all the right things - and importantly he sounded like he believed what he was saying.

Brilliant from Poch.

It's very evident that he loves the challenge we're faced with. Like the whole thing and has done since day 1. We fret over the possibility of the Madrid job becoming available again but I can't think of a job that's less 'Poch'.

Yes, we don't know what the future holds but i'm starting to think it's an obsession for him to atleast win something with us before he goes anywhere.
