He hasn't complained much about the world cup players having no preseason. Preseason is something he speaks about annually as being so important. I really am surprised at this. Maybe thats what he's getting at in terms of talking about reality and perception. The perception is that all the players are fine and should be performing but the reality is that they aren't ready fir another season yet.

If that is the case, then you've got to ask why he hasn't used the squad more (although the team would be weaker) and thought about the bigger picture.

When you start publically complaining about tiredness or anything like that the players start to believe it and use it as an excuse. He's not silly he can see the squad is tired but he's trying to find ways to fix it.

We've been put in a bit of a fucked up situation with the world cup, Son going to play for S.Korea and Wanyama/Lamela Injuries, it's definitely tested the squad.

I agree with you regarding the tiredness excuse. I suppose complaining about not ideal preparation falls into the same boat.

Poch seemingly more and more tetchy in his pressers. Anyone else wondering if all is not well behind the scenes?

It’s a bit messy at the club right now. Crap summer window, players look way off form/foully fitness, stadium nonsense ongoing etc

I can't imagine that Poch was particularly happy with no signings. Obviously we don't know the ins and outs of it, but it looks like the scouting network, recruitment team and Levy have let him down. Of course Poch is a part of this process, but he still needs others to perform to get results (player signings).

This hasn't happened and you wonder if he's more annoyed than he's letting on.

Not sure this site needs your “information” right now mate. This place is touchy enough as it is without a no doubt over reaction to you posting whatever it is that’s on your mind and passing it on as info.

Have I missed something here??

It has been very short sighted from Levy. The whole approach to transfers has been odd for a long time so im not surprised Poch is starting to crack. The way Poch has handled himself has been excpetional to date, always protecting the club, players and the fans.

I hope he stirs the pot a little to get a reaction from Levy. Surely Levy can see that replacing Poch is nigh on impossible. There isnt anyone out their who is attainable who could do what he has done or improve upon it.

Go for it Poch. Give it some!

A few words from Eriksen:-
“The players don’t really know what’s going on, but hopefully it will be done soon enough and we can play there,” Eriksen said.
“It’s an amazing build which is going to take time, it’s disappointing (Spurs are not playing there yet) and we should have a date.
“The Spurs management and (chairman) Daniel Levy won’t be too happy that it’s happened, but you can’t do anything about it at the moment.
“Hopefully we can speed up the process and get it done as soon as possible.
“It has to be in good shape when we get in it, and if it takes a little bit longer then it takes a little bit longer.”

Nothing out of order but not at all the standard line of "we just concentrate on our football". Pretty clear the whole stadium rumpus is having a malign effect and it won't have been helped by the no transfer window.
Low levels of adrenalin I'd suggest.
I'd also suggest that the idea of biting the bullet and just leaving it until next season to move in would be a disastrous course of action as the last thing Mauricio Pochettino and the players want.

For those panicking about Pochettino’s comments and thinking he’s sending some passive aggressive message to the board, the full quote might be a little less sensational and a little more, well, just plain stating the obvious:

"I don't think we're realistic contenders in any single competition," added Pochettino.
"That is my view if we show the same face we did against Watford and Liverpool, so difficult. If we show the face from some bits of Old Trafford, then maybe yes."

You may be underestimating Levy’s ego and ruthlessness. From what I hear if Poch steps out of line and compromises the Board, as crazy as it may seem, Levy and his sheep would pull the trigger. They’ll be prepared to take the flack. So I really hope Poch stays calm.

It's not the flack they will have to worry about preparing for, it's the exodus of the players.
