It was as least semi-final worthyI thought that post match press conference he gave was fucking embarrassing last night. That was Mourinho lite.

Or an injured Andre Gomes, as confirmed by various itk; an offer we made on deadline day. Lovely stuff
Not really - you are being somewhat asinine.
I wouldn't regard Ramos as successful either since he only won one league cup (which I don't regard as a major trophy anyway) and almost got us relegated.
I would say that Poch had been a lot more successful than Ramos at Spurs on a relative basis - I think that's obvious - But that neither would be considered successful in absolute terms.
So rather than try and twist was I'm saying in order to claim that I'm implying that Ramos is more successful than Poch - which is obviously wrong - how about we concentrate on the facts, which are:
1. Levy has not backed Poch with the funds his achievements thus far have warranted.
2. Poch has also done poorly with the tools at his disposal thus far this season given how poor our performances have been.
Obviously 1 mitigates 2 and I think it shows that football is really a confidence game and at the moment it is hard to see how we turn it around for our short term or even long term benefit ( given players ages and contract situations).
Sadly it seems Levy has screwed Poch over and it's difficult to see a good outcome for Tottenham.
The bold part is what he apparently turned down at Real Madrid. If any job was cursed that's it. And if you bother to read Trix's post, he had his wants. Martial being one. We all know he was unavailable. To blame Levy for everything is wrong. Sure he has his faults, but we would not be part of "the top six" if it wasn't for him.
That's a great point and how refreshing if we used this winter window to sign 2 big players for the summer on pre-contract. So be no dicking about in summer, new players would be in club from first day of pre-season. Imagine.I think we need announced signings he wants in the spring if he's staying for next season.

Using a bit of retrospective, Ramos was a success up until we won the Worthy's. I don't think we won more than a couple of games between then and the October.
His problem was more likely to be man management than anything else, and couldn't control the egos. He seemed similar at Madrid, good for 8 months or so, then went a bit dour.
I still miss the Redknapp days, even though we didn't win anything.
In Levy's eyes, Poch is an absolute success because having 3 Champions League qualifications with negligible net transfer spend has generated huge amount of cash for Levy in terms of CL revenue, and all the associated sponsorship leverage that goes with this. I'm sure AIA pay more to sponsor CL team. Nike are paying top dollar due to CL exposure etc etc. I doubt whether Levy is too arsed about winning league as long as we qualify each season for CL. without spending too much on buying players.,We don't need to speak in absolute terms though, when you evaluate a managerial stint it needs context, success isn't measure in trophies, if you actually agree with that then you're contradicting your claims that you don't think Ramos is a success, you can't have it both ways.
1) Is irrelevant to whether Poch is seen as a success or a failure.
2) Why are you only using this season (as in what 5 matches) if you're judging his tenure which would be 5 seasons?
For me it's rather simple thing of looking at what Poch has done for this club since he's first walked in and in relation to what we normally 'achieve' he's an undoubted success.
So is Poch just expected to say yes to the cheap, opportunist "consolation prizes" Levy habitually looks to fob him off with, only to be told at subsequent windows that his principal targets are unattainable until said deadwood is sold and off the wage bill? I don't think it's fair to criticise the bloke for refusing to accept the latest window's N'Koudou.Of course there was. I'm not too he one who said no to Them though am I.
O rightThere is no such thing as a pre-contract
I read an article in The Mirror where Darren Lewis basically said that Poch is under pressure because he has taken us from also-rans to contenders, which I agree with. He concludes by saying:
"Without Pochettino, Spurs would still have their noses pressed up against the Champions League glass.
Without Pochettino, Spurs would still be waiting for the big dogs to finish on a Tuesday and Wednesday night before lining up alongside the other under-achievers on a Thursday.
Without Pochettino, Tottenham would still have that weak mentality which saw them have sand kicked in their faces at Chelsea and surrender their three points every season at Manchester United.
Without Pochettino, Arsenal would be extending their two decades of celebrating St Totteringham’s Day instead of wondering when they will get their Champions League place back.
Without Pochettino, this current drama really would be a crisis under managers more willing to push players into the front line instead of taking the bullets themselves."
I think Lewis is a big fan of Poch and he doesn't address the poor subs and tactical cock ups but he does make some good points. Sometimes even I forget how much good we've been over the past 3 years and I preferred De Boer!
3 points on Saturday would mean we have achieved more points than from the same set of fixtures last year.
Come on Poch, 4231 with the right selection and get us back on track!!!

He's still learning and, like any manager (human for that matter), has his flaws but blimey imagine if Poch left any time soon...it would be a disaster. We'd be back to square one....
