I wonder if his press conference will be today. It would be good to get a positive injury update with dembele and eriksen back for this weekend especially.

He is scheduled for 12.30 (now) today, but is a bit late according to SkySports

Alasdair Gold

Spurs injury news: Christian Eriksen (abdomen) & Mousa Dembele (thigh) back in training and available for selection. Dele Alli (hamstring) - expected to return to training next week. Danny Rose (groin) - progressing with rehabilitation. Jan Vertonghen (hamstring) - remains out.

Don't mind me..just holding out hope that the timing of this Real Madrid/Lopetegui news is such that it pushes DL to heavily back Poch in January, knowing that RM will most likely have an open position for Poch after the season.

Much rather this news come now rather in March or April after another January of DL waiting for the summer window.

That said, my alarm bells will be going off (obviously they work better than NWHL's) if we don't sign anyone in January now. My optimism with Poch was rooted in 1)Levy would fix his mistake and buy in January and 2) none of the big boys would have open positions for him this summer. Seems like both of those might be in play by Feb 1.

Our beautiful Poch has us competing again without any money being spent, a record-breaking start for us. Yes we're not very fluid and he's being a little 'experimental' at times but he's pulled yet another rabbit out of the hat. In that context, he's probably preventing himself from getting money spent again by being too bloody good at his job...

One thing is for sure he won't want to pull that rabbit out again so Levy better stump up the big bucks come Jan or next summer could be bleak.

Hopefully Levy can see that it is going to be difficult to keep form like that up all season and that money needs to be available on January.

The trouble might be that Poch has so educated the club in how players can be made not bought that going out and buying instant solutions seem very 'Arry like these days. Still slowly reading his book and just came across the chapter where he convinces DL and others that they don't need to but a DM because he can turn Dier into one.

So having been convinced by Poch that we only buy very specific players, or else make do, it becomes a problem when we can't get the players the manager wants. If clubs refuse to sell, players want wages well beyond what we can pay or transfer fees are crazy then I am afraid we are whistling in the wind expecting us to suddenly buy all the players we desire.

It’s all very well having money available, but clubs will be less likely to sell in jan and at inflated prices. We’ve already been told in seasons past that January is “difficult”.

Should have put our money where our mouth was in the summer.

Still, we did sign Lucas in Jan, so there is hope. Although I think it would only be viable where clubs really want to get rid. Plus Poch doesn’t really integrate new signings mid season so I’d doubt we’ll feel any real benefit anyway.

Basically I think fans are getting their hopes up thinking about January. We just have to hope our current squad can avoid anymore injuries, somehow manage to stay fresh and improve performances so we can get that 4th place.

Yep, totally agree that January is a horrible window and it's also a ready made excuse for not signing anyone and we definitely screwed up in the summer but hopefully we can do something in January.

Last January changed things, it's believed to be a much more active window now than it's been in the past. Also South American clubs prefer to do their business then (considering our Barrios interest.)

That said, we were also told that this past summer was also difficult. If the summer is too difficult and January is too difficult then.... ?

has he ever really purchased anyone in January, I can only think of Moura and he had no match fitness and was used sparingly, but still used
