it seems top 4 is the only thing people are bothered about now sadly
i'm just glad I was old enough to be able to enjoy the trophies in the early 80s
looking at a league table and qualifying for a competition we'lve no chance of winning just isn't quite the same

once again he takes no responsibility in his interview and chooses to justify his decision to play foyth over toby, i really hope this is not how he feels deep down or we will experience this same feeling again
Aw come on now. What do you expect him to say? "Yes, it was a mistake Foyth should not have played". Foyths confidence could take a kicking.

Just because he didn't say it doesn't necessarily mean he hasn't realised.

I don't see why Foyth is taking a hammering. Vertonghen gave a needless penalty away and then got sent off. He is the experienced one who needs to step up. I thought Foyth played pretty well.

He had one brain fart that led to their 3rd? goal.
Playing next to Jan who was having a complete shocker cant've helped.

As much as today's heavy defeat was Poch's fault imo - he has had his back against the wall given the out of his control problems that the club and the WC have presented him with. I seriously doubt that Poch had no influence over the lack of spending in the summer. I keep wondering how well Poch would do without the restrictions that are placed on him at our club. He does need to get over that hurdle of not having a bloody clue with in-game decisions though. Oh and play his best team, regardless.

I would expect him to own it and perhaps say in hindsight he should of played Toby. More importantly in would expect him to acknowledge the opposing manager was proactive in winning the match whilst he sat doing nothing until it was too late.

Amazing how many people seem to be shocked by today’s result.

A loss their isn’t shocking of course, it’s the manner, which to be fair, isn’t really that shocking either. We always seem to leave our bottle on the bus in this fixture.

That doesn't get brought up as much because its several months past, but it bit us in the ass again today. We needed reinforcements in the summer and we didn't get them.

I know he's in a catch 22 in whatever he says I just wish he would give us the fans confidence he has learned from today instead of his choice of words which made it seem in his eyes foyth was outstanding apart from 1 mistake, id rather hear words like 'we need to learn from our mistakes' instead of being led to believe everything was fine apart from a few mistakes

To be honest, I don't think Alderweireld would have made a world of difference. He hasn't been the player he was in 15-16

To be honest I’m not sure why either of them are, I’m not convinced if we’d simply swapped Toby in we’d suddenly have won. Collectively as a team we were all over the place most of the game, taking too many touches, our passing was a yard wayward constantly and sloppy. We looked really nervous all over the pitch. Arsenal looked so much more up for it and let’s be honest battered us today, it was like a reverse of last week.

But we always lose there in that manner.

They get mad up for it, their cup final, go bezerk at us and we get overwhelmed.

Their players get 100% ability boost from the shock of hearing their fans actually make some noise once a season.

I think he and verts play well together, I get what your saying but I think in this game it would have mattered.
