How about....I love pooch, I don't want him to leave, I think he is doing such a great job he should be given the freedom of Tottenham!
Sure - if thats how you want to answer when someone asks you.

I think the thing that maybe gets confused here: Rose is not influencing anyone's behavior on the team when he responds the way he did. He is not creating any discord or making Poch all of a sudden think about leaving. Rose is just giving his honest assessment - from his point of view.

Frankness has long been part of the remit of Spurs left-backs. Remember Benny saying he didn’t really like footballl and was only in it for the money? Like some others here I appreciate the refreshing honesty. Rose wasn’t negative about the club and there’s no need to be all hypersensitive about how the media might spin him. As @LexingtonSpurs suggests, no serious decisions will be influenced by such innocuously candid remarks from players nor whatever media gossip follows. It’s just a fan thing.

Yes, I remember Benny saying 'some Spurs players kiss the badge then leave but I am still here'

To which no said back to him 'That's because you're shit, Benoit'.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino insists he will never get bored of hearing stories linking him to the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid – because it means he is doing something right.

Fresh speculation about Pochettino’s future has emerged this week in the wake of Spurs’ qualification to the knockout stage of the Champions League, with reports suggesting the club are braced for summer interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The Argentinian signed a five-year contract in May and has constantly spoken about how happy he is in north London, so much prefers the column inches to be filled up with stories about his future rather than stories about him getting sacked.

“This type of news I think does not upset or bore people,” he said.

“I prefer that newspapers talk about things like this than talk about, ‘Tottenham is going to sack me’, or ‘people are tired of me’, or ‘we are in a difficult situation’.

“Of course, if I choose one situation I choose this one. I am not bored of it, of course.”

Pochettino is getting linked with some of the top jobs because of the work he has done at Spurs, leading them into the last 16 of the Champions League and mounting a title challenge, despite all of the problems they have faced this season.

Not many people are looking past Manchester City or Liverpool to finish in top spot – and that is just how Pochettino likes it.

“We are there, we are in a good position of course,” he added.

“It is normal that the perception is different. I am happy with the perception today when the perception from the media is only Manchester City and Liverpool and not us.

“I am not happy with the perception when they are not assessing us in the right way.

“After investment and many things when you assess the different clubs, normally it is Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, United, Arsenal will be involved in the race for the title. But not Tottenham.

“But we are there because we compete in a very good way, our performances are fantastic, but the perception is different.”

Apologies if posted:

https://www.football.london/tottenh...ing-mauricio-barcelona-fans-camp-15539655.amp

On the morning of the match I'd visited Pochettino's old stomping ground across town, Espanyol's RCDE Stadium, where the Argentine had taken the first steps in his managerial career, saving the struggling club from relegation and keeping them afloat for the next few seasons.

There were no official tours scheduled but one old boy kindly let me inside for a couple of moments to take some photos of the ground, looking carefully around every couple of moments to check he wouldn't get in trouble with his boss.

As I thanked him and moved to walk past, the elderly Catalan gentleman touched my arm and said: "Tell Maurico when you see him later that he is the king. I came here every Sunday for years to watch his team and he means so much to us. He is the king of Barcelona."

The Tottenham fans waking up this morning with big grins on their faces will wholeheartedly agree.

This man.

Funny. Danny Rose said similar about Poch being linked and he was chastised by people. The gaffa is being linked with these clubs because he is doing a good job. Nothing that was said, was wrong or indicates Poch will leave.

Erik Edman was pretty chilled to be fair, as far as Spurs left backs go.

His assessment was Poch has done great without spending like the rest.

I don't get your interpretation mate... How would that make people jittery. I don't see any inference regarding Pochettino leaving in his comments... Just that he's done so well with limited spending. I don't think that implies he might not be happy?

I think you are misinterpreting my comments - I am completely fine with what Rose said. I was responding to others who wish Rose had not spoken to the press.

I think some people are over-sensitive to things in the press, and to things Rose says - thus they get "jittery".

Ah OK, just didn't understand the bit about Pochettino leaving.

After the Sun interview, does Danny really think he’d still be in Poch’s inner circle and get info on our transfer plans? He’s lucky Poch didn’t knock his teeth out.
