Really?? UTD have a history of promoting players through their academy, this has been forgotten over the last few years, they also had a history of buying the best young talent and nurturing it, again this has been forgotten. He will also be given time by the fans because of the way he acts and how he sets his teams up

Under the likes of Gill and Ferguson, not Woodward and the Glazers. However of all the elite clubs Utd is probably the one with historically the most Poch-like ethos, I'd agree with that.

Fully understand why he's their number one choice. It's a no brainer. But Poch was Perez' first choice too...

United no doubt tapping him up now to start in the summer. I'm 100% certain he's their guy, 2 birds with one stone.
We'll find out soon, if they hire a temp till the end of the season or a permanent

Utd are perhaps the biggest club in the world and the appeal to manage them must be enormous regardless of their current predicament. Our squad is good but there are so many exciting talents at Utd that Poch would work his magic with. The likes of Shaw, Dalot, Pogba, Martial and Rashford would thrive under his coaching let alone some of their extremely gifted youth stars such as Angel Gomes. Some of our now established stars such as Vertonghen and Rose (like Walker before) looked shot of confidence and many had doubts over whether they would truly cut it...Poch would back himself and his coaching staff to make great improvements at Utd with what is available, let alone what would be brought in.

Whether people accept it or not, there is a football 'food-chain' and Utd are a step up from us. They have the gravitas and financial muscle to rival anyone. Poch would be mad not to seriously consider the opportunity.

My biggest fear is that the squad love him so much and are so used to his way of doing things that we'll have to go through a horrible transition period post Poch, much like United have post Fergie. How many would want to leave? Difficult to say but I'd be amazed if we didnt lose 1 or 2 key players in the summer if he left now. The club will always be bigger than one man, but replacing this man would be an almost impossible task. Would be such a shame going into the first full season at the new stadium.

Fingers and toes crossed that he doesn't see United as a better option than continuing his project here.

There's a lot of optimistic posts in here, yeah Poch (apparently) turned down Madrid (after he signed a new contract and was probably promised money for transfers).

But the UTD job is taylormade for him
, while I hope he stays and wins us titles if he feels he's taken us as far as he can with the current backing from the board then he'll go.

Have to disagree. Utd is a shit storm and has been since Ferguson left. They've chucked money at evrything and bought themselves a load of problems with players like Pogba and Sanchez. Mourinho has added massively to the problems by creating a toxic atmosphere. By contrast, we have everything in place to push on and start realising our potential, and Poch has worked hard for a few years to get us to this point. We have a balanced, harmonious squad and Poch has a very good relationship with Levy. THFC is tailor made for him.

Lets just hope Solskjaer does shite and they get relegated. Only way Poch wont go there, IMO. Other than that...Welcome to Tottenham, Eddie Howe!

Lets hope Solskjaer does a fantastic job so they have to consider keeping him on a permament basis.

You make a few fair points but, sooner or later they will get it right. They have plenty of excellent players to work with and a new manager can bring a positive wind of change.

Agree that we are 'tailor made' for him and even more so the club has been developed in his image. Nevertheless, the appeal of Utd for any manager is enormous. His relationship with Levy is clearly special but not one that I am confident would tie him to us if push came to shove. The league is getting ever more competitive and the years ahead may be a challenge to us with the transition to the new stadium and the possible restrictions on funds.

I think he's gone in the summer, I don't see why United would bother with a caretaker if Poch hasn't already given them the blowjob eyes.

This is what United use to do....glad you brought these bits up because two United legends will tell you that what you're saying is wrong.

Pochettino goes then we can kiss goodbye to CL football in the near future. Infact if Pochettino goes, then I see all our top players following him out the door. He is that damn important to this club and that’s why I’m pretty certain we will do everything in our power to keep him and I’m almost certain Pochettino will stay at Spurs. We might aswell tear all this hard work up we have built if we let him go, especially to United of all clubs.

This is probably the best time for him to take over, anyone taking directly after Ferguson left was always in for a tough time, Moyes was a dead man walking, VG and Jose where the wrong choices.

This reminds me a little of when we appointed Poch, Woodward HAS to get this appointment right, Poch's man management skills are second to none and they need someone like him to put their arms around the club and remind them of who they were

All the top managers won’t leave mid-season. And the word is Zidane not interested. If they can’t get Poch next summer there’s also the likes of Allegri and Simeone.

The difference between the jobs is financial muscle. Regardless of how crap they are now, they have that draw based on aura of prior success and an incredible bank vault to draw from. It just became more expensive for us to keep on the trajectory we're on, and even then, it won't compare to the salary Poch and his staff could get at United, along with the salaries "his" players at United could earn, along with the types of transfer fee he could use to procure those players.

Despite that, I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that he'll leave. And it's the price of success we've been enjoying. We've managed to break through the point where our better players were just departing to the top sides in England with relative ease. It's an interesting test to see if we can withstand this pressure too. And perhaps it will galvanize the side to keep succeeding this season, as we're really doing all we can to stay in touch for the big prizes.
