You don't think having offers from United and Madrid is good leverage? The best time to argue your value and demand more to any company is when there's legitimate offers on the table at a time when your club need you most.

You've misunderstood me. Yes that's leverage alright, but I don't think Pochettino would obsess about it as much as other factors - that would be more important to him in terms of keeping him at the Club.

January is a very difficult time to get players in even if you've got a whack of cash to play with.

Ah yeah I did, but I think specifically as to why he won't rule himself out of the jobs is to exert some pressure on Levy but I agree with you that in his actual decision to stay at the club that will not be one of the defining factors.

Not if you shop in the countries that have release clauses.

I think it's naive to think he wouldn't at least consider it. He seemed happy as Larry at Southampton and was swayed by us seemingly easy enough. The gulf in stature between us and United is just as big as us and Soton, so I wouldn't be shocked if he was up for it.

I do think he'll wanna stick around to usher in the new stadium etc, though. Had we not had the stadium stuff going on, I'd have far less confidence.

That's so not true buddy (assuming someone hasn't already responded to you).

Poch was publicly angry, and extremely verbal when there was talk that Southampton would get rid of their sporting director (Corteze, was it?). He openly stated something along the lines of, "If Southampton lose Corteze, they will lose me"...

They did indeed get rid of him, Poch stuck to his word as soon as the opportunity to leave arose.

I get that, but this is potentially far bigger than any other rumor/press story. More like a frenzy.
Today it has been, but that's because Jose's only just been sacked.
...Tomorrows fish and chip paper and all that.

Fuck treating Utd differently, they're no different to Real Madrid...they're the stuff of click bait dreams.

I hope you're right, but I think this will be relentless until we draw a line under it.

I think you are underestimating the frustration of having zero to spend and your chairman consistently low balling targets and failing to deliver your plan B and C options let alone a Plan A - that can only last for so long

Also think you are underestimating what a jerk Mourinho is - those same Utd players would definitely respond to Poch. Luke shaw is in life with him

Unless there is genuine and consistent cash to spend going forward can understand why he might think he has take us as far as we can

Up to Levy to step up

I understand all those concerns in regards to spending, but people are also making it out like every club out there is just spending money left and right.

The fact is our starting 11 is as strong as it can get with out spending £60Mil+ on a player something only really City and PSG can afford to do with out much trouble and with out selling their best players.

This notion that having a positive net spend is somehow bad for us and Poch is silly, and everyone out there screaming for signings just for the sake of signings is out of their mind. You should only spend money on what you need no matter if you are United or Fulham. For us we really couldn't improve our starting 11 and our depth was fine, it is only now that we have had an unprecedented amount of injuries does it look like we are lacking depth, which is not the reality.

The majority of Spurs fans have become spoiled and now exclusively see our position from a glass half empty view.

As for Mourinho he is there to to his job and get results about 95% of coaches are jerks we just happen to have one of the few likable managers. And those same players really showed their real face this season, because last season they finished 2nd yet activly sabotaged Mourinho to get rid of him. You tell me who comes of worse the serial winner that has a antique way to push his players or the prima donna players that downed their tools and quit on their manager.

He won't leave in the middle of a season but next summer could even be uglier than last one if we lose Eriksen and Toby. Replacing them plus buying new fullbacks and at least one midfielder and time needed for them to gel could lead to a disastrous season and him losing reputation.

You know what poch could have ended this today in his press conference he choose not too.

He’s flashed his knickers it’s as simple as that.

He can get fucked, the hypocrisy of him having a go at walker etc for wanting to leave.

Henry Winter has brilliant links with us if I believe right? He’s wrote that article.

The other one to look out for is guillem balague he’s close with poch monitor what he says

The fact that United are prepared to appoint a caretaker until the end of the season, tells you everything you need to know.

I think our fanbase really need to wake up and smell the coffee.

He's gone.

Bit harsh, but it would be nice for the fans who invest everything in the club for him to unequivocally say “this is where I’ll be until someone tells me otherwise”.

He chose to give a slightly more open ended answer than that, which leaves the door open for continued speculation. It is frustrating.

There is absolutely no way he could have ended this today. He could have signed a new lifetime contract and tattooed the badge on his arse, some tit would still report he was desperate for the United job.
