They’ll look like idiots soon enough. Probably wait for it to tie in with the Ole to manure narrative and then we’ll hear more about it.

Don't think Poch is going to turn down Frenkie De Jong for Oliver Skipp.

no he most probably wouldn't, but for someone that lives in the transfer thread you might of heard De Jong turned us down, because he has his heart set on Barca. time to wake up, we are never going to be the size of Barca not in our life time.

he might prefer Skipp instead of plan B though

I also wish for Rachel Riley but I know it wont be happening. I wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish man i wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish.

I think for Poch to be here for 20 years he needs to be successful and we as a club need to give him the tools to bring that success. It is positive he wants to stay but that is hard work

Yes but the uncertainty we’ve all been feeling has been driven by intense speculation about his immediate future which, IMO, these quotes throw some serious cold water on. Which is what we’re all happy about.

The “20 years” remark is simply illustrative that he wants to stay with us beyond the short term, and I’m pretty sure he’d know that number will draw the headlines.

Perhaps some transfer targets are seeking assurances from the club that the manager is going to be there? Most of these comments tend to have a purpose.

I watched the interview, and yes he mentioned to compete we need to change. he also said on Friday he didn't want to block the path of our youth.

Poch will know exactly how far the club can go at this moment, because he will of had discussions with Levy. he also knows the difficulty of buying in January, he also knows we have a squad size of 26 players at the club and another 2 on loan. he also knows we need 1 or 2 HG players.

I honestly don't expect anything this window, and if we do it will be something early for the summer
So you watched it, ignored what he said and then repeat the same points you’ve been making since the summer to convince yourself all is well. Ok....

On the silverware debate, wouldn't it be great if Poch can be our Ferguson and turn us into a beast like Man Utd.

Ferguson at Man Utd

4 seasons to win 1st trophy
7 seasons to win 1st league title
13 seasons to win 1st Champions League

so he is so unhappy, yet he is talking about being with us for 20yrs?

all you ever want to do is see the dark side, and twist it. we all know you hate ENIC, and won't be happy till they are gone.

we all know your views on transfers, wages and our youth set up. our U23's aren't too good in the League at the moment, but our U18's are flying. they can't be doing a too bad of a job, and once we are in the New stadium and getting a turn over, hopefully everything will improve. the trouble is I hope, you don't believe it's possible with ENIC. why not wait and see, even if it takes another 5 years, because what we have now is thanks to ENIC. no guarantee a new owner would of done what they have done, and we was never going to ever be able to compete in the old WHL whoever owned us

Poch tells fans to believe.
Poch tells media he doesnt want to block youth coming through.
Poch says he wants to stay for 20 years.

Ask yourself. Is he lying or are some of you refusing to listen.

Watch today’s interview rather than reading the text, you will hear that Poch definitely isn’t saying being different is something he is proud of. He is being explicit, although not explicit enough for some on here, that if the club want him to deliver league titles and CL then the club needs to invest more in the playing staff.

I agree with you, but I also think from the interview that he is aware there is a process and that all involved, from Levy and Joe Lewis to himself and Jesus are managing and juggling the stadium situation.

Once the stadium is completed the focus changes. The objectives change.

That's my take anyhow.

You know that even this will be spun to suit the narrative:

"Pochettino wants to spend 20 years at Tottenham and end his career at the North London club ... after a stint at Manchester United."

It seems to me that Poch has placed himself in the perfect position. If he doesn't get the investment he wants in the squad then he walks and saves face. If he does then he intends to stay for 20 years and build a legacy. I truly believe he wants the second option but whether or not he gets the support and backing he needs is the 64,000 dollar question.

The way i read what poch said was that we've been building towards the new stadium, once we've moved in, and we're getting a bigger income, we need to move to building the squad. I doubt Levy will hold the purse strings shut. Its just a case of assessing the numbers, and working out whats acheivable, and how much budget there is. Some have suggested in the papers poch is hinting he may leave, i see it more that poch is saying the clubs focus needs to change after we move in, and i'm sure it will. Levy is too smart not to sit down with poch show him the numbers, and work out whats realistic.

This. If you listen carefully to his on pitch interview post Tranmere he says when it's finished (the stadium) maybe we can change our approach (to spending).

I remember because I shit myself when he said when we are finished, as I immediately took it to mean himself and his management team and took it as a hint they may be off, then seconds later got what he meant. His still slightly broken English went from giving me a heart attack to a warm glow in about 10 seconds!
