Although this is written with a little hindsight I was always reasonably confident that Pich would stay. (Not saying it is nailed on as if yet)

Reading between the lines, Poch has always stated that he has accomplished the goals set in the initial first 5yr plan.

He just needs the confidence that this is purely the initial part of a bigger master plan. It may have been mooted between himself and Levy as to where they go now, but unless you sit down and put down in writing what the next stage of development is it can still be somewhat dubious.

Be making the quotes that he has is not so odd, and the context has been played by so many from different perspectives.

Why would he stay if the club has no real ambition to move on from where we are now? That is a "Glass Half Empty" taking of the situation.

You could read into it that if their ambitions met, then why would he ever want to leave a club that he obviously feels extremely comfortable to be part of, with the arguably the best training facilities in the world and the best stadium in the world, and where he is loved.

Those are my onions for what it is worth.

Who is Pich ? ...glad he's staying though..let's hope Poch does too...(y):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: After all...we don't want anyone taking the Pich

5 years since the appointment ! Poch is currently the 5th (!) longest-serving manager in the country, and 3th longest-serving manager in PL (behind Howe and Dyche)

This is remarkable.

Seems like he has been with us longer!

He is surely embedded into Spurs history and he will always be associated with us for his achievements.

Long live the Poch!

No idea why, but this typo reminds me of Simpsons when Moe keeps calling Marge Midge.

Today it’s been five years since Poch started his magical journey with Tottenham Hotspur!

To infinity and beyond!

These stats always bug me, Bournemouth got promoted the year after Poch took charge, and Burnley were relegated and then promoted again in 15-16 with Dyche.

They've managed their clubs longer, but Poch has the longest managing run in the PL no?

In the Prem for the entirety of his run, yes. But in terms of overall time spent at their respective clubs regardless of league, it is correct.

Disastrous choice as manager. Will never be able to motivate or earn the respect of star players.

On a serious note, who were our star players when he stepped in? Pretty sure most couldn’t care who came or went or that point such was lack of enthusiasm for the squad post AVB/Sherwood.

Checkout this link....https://www.anniversarygift.org/fifth-anniversary-gifts/

Modern 5th anniversary gift is Silverware....I know just the thing .....(y) He'll have it delivered Saturday....COYS

Saw this so teased my Liverpool supporting girlfriend the news only for her to immediately retort that as Wood is the traditional 5 year gift, it’s just going to be the wooden spoon that he’ll end up with.

Bitch. :joyful:

I remember endless posts about say Lloris for instance - a lot were thinking he probably already would want to leave after the couple of years he'd have experienced and that some no-name manager with no experience like Poch would just be the final straw.

And that this would also apply to any new signings and no one would want to sign for us. It was a lack of ambition. The apocalypse was nigh etc etc.

Pretty much Lloris, Vertonghen and Eriksen were the only ones I thought were any good at that point.
