I don't know much (and by that I mean NUSSING) about him but I like his name. Is he any good?

‘An exotic, devastatingly handsome man stepped out of a bright red convertible Mercedes. With deep brown eyes that held your gaze intensely and smouldering looks that could test a young nun’s virtue, the man carried himself with the air of a noble prince. His name was Maxi Gomez, and it was rumoured he was the product of a moonlight entanglement between a beautiful countess and a renegade, sizzling gypsy. Yet only Florian Grillitsch, the Austrian nobleman, and Sander Berge, Maxi’s charismatic half brother on his mother’s side, knew the true origins of his secret parentage. That didn’t stop people gossiping of course, and Maxi’s mysterious past drove women apoplectic in sexual yearning.’

8 goals and 4 assists in 14 league games is pretty decent. Including a goal and an assist against Atletico. Do we need another striker though? Not really seen him play, just going from stats

When you look at what Aubameyang and Lacazette are able to do for them down the road, it's hard to not want another big name striker. It's one of the main reasons their second half performances are so good, they're able to bring another top class goalscorer off the bench against tired legs.

Whether this guy is that big name striker is another story. Personally I think he's too similar to Kane (then again I've been begging for a team full of Harry Kanes since 2015)

This is where us fans under-estimate Sonny. His goal record is brilliant and even better when hes moved up top for us. The team also has the same record. Sonny and Kane already matches Aubameyang and Lacazette.

At that precise moment the sexual tension in the room was shattered as a tray of Bollinger charged glasses was sent crashing to the marble floor as the Butler tripped over a Pug. 'Oh for God's sake Grealish, you clumsy idiot! Clean that mess up immediately!'

He is good but I just don't see us paying this kind of money for a backup striker, particularly when he's good enough to be starting, not necessarily starting for us but certainly for a number of clubs that he could go to.

Isn't he the blond guy that missed all those penalties one game? Must be getting on a bit now.

If we are looking for a back up striker I still like Dembele who we could have signed from Fulham for peanuts or from Celtic for 19m. Another young player that Poch could have developed.

I have some vague recollection of him failing a medical.
