I'd take Arnautovic off them if he's still wanting to fuck off tbh.

Whilst I rate Arnautovic as a player, I don't like his attitude and think he would potentially be a bad fit in the dressing room.

Beyond that I don't think he'd ever be comfortable playing 2nd fiddle once Kane was back, he wants to start every week.

He's also 30 in April and would cost around 40m or more with 35m already being rejected.

I think he wants to go to China because he wants a big wage to finish his career.

But most importantly there is no chance that West Ham would sell him to us. No chance at all.

Knows the League and doubt he'd be more trouble that Serge was rumoured to be or Rabiot who people seemed to ignore the stories about to suit them.

Premier proven, versatile, would rotate, scores goals, strong as an ox....Spam thing granted, but it's the type of signing that could come in straight away and do a job IMO and there aren't many of them about tbh.

(Could easily sell him to China at 32/33)

When was the last time we signed a Premier League proven player that wound up doing well for us? You could say Trippier but he's been off the boil lately so I'm mad at him. I guess Toby, but he wasn't Prem proven when Soton took the punt on him from Atletico. That element is overstated imvho.

Lloris - Ligue 1, Jan, Sanchez - Ajax, Rose - Northern obscurity, Dier - Portugal, Winks - snatched from childhood same as Skipp, okay I forgot Dembele and Wanyama, Son - Germany, Eriksen - Holland, Dele - some shithole, Lucas - France. I'd say out of those Eriksen, Son, Dele, Skipp, Dier, Sanchez and Jan all came in and hit the ground running without being prem-proven. Lloris would have too if AVB wasn't such a dickhead.

I don't disagree with you but how about PL-proven players we have signed who have then gone on and flopped (because of themselves, not because they aren't being played like Llorente)? Genuine question because I can't honestly remember.

Point being, if we're signing someone to help at CF from another League, I'd much rather a loan with a view to buy in the circumstances.

If we're flashing cash (lol), I think the risk should be minimised by getting a player who is more likely to come in and perform straight away. Played in England before, knows the language, not too lightweight etc.

The risk is greater with an import without some of the above IMO, that's all.

China offering to pay 45 mill for him and give him 300k a week wages, in what world our West Ham selling him to a rival and we're paying those wages?

Doubt we'd bid for/sign either player so this is all hypothetical, but if we're getting a striker, I'd much rather some of the above applied.

I don't see us buying a striker this window. Llorente is our number 9 back up and we just need to play to his strengths and give him a chance.

Don’t see nando being able to play two games a week. He has hardly played in 2 years and is what 34 ?

This. I don't get the striker talk at all. Ok, we have an injury, but Llorente is a fine back up and you have to trust the back up if injuries happen. Obviously the back up is never going to be first team level.

We simply won't get better than a striker settled in the league and in the squad, who has influenced games for us recently (opponents are different I am aware). Any striker would be unlikely to play straight away, in fact I'd say they would hardly play a minute before Sonny is due back anyway based on past events.

The talk of us panic buying when we weren't going to supposedly and the endless chain of linked strikers makes little sense to me.

EDIT: Regarding Llorente not playing twice a week, I think Alli will lead to line

Some thing like 6 sub appearances in the prem and a cup game or so. There is no way he is physically ready.

How do you know that? He looked a lot fitter v Tranmere than he ever did at Swansea.

even if we could agree with spammers, he would want the £200k that he would get in China. Can't see him staying committed to us long term anyway.

Check out the ITK discussion thread... If we want to discuss striker options we're supposed to in these player threads.
I’m aware of how the ITK thread works. (y)

It was the multiple pages of discussion of Arnautovic confusing me into thinking that we’d been linked with him.
