It's just a bunch of meat heads. Thick tossers who get thicker with every blow to their empty heads.

I generally live by the creed 'each to their own', but find it embarrassing that so many adults treat this stuff seriously.

And yet you're a a football fan?

But the underlying question here is: Why does that bother you?

Although a lot won't care about boxing until the next hyped up fight comes around, for a fair few (especially younger fans) this will be what sparked their interest and could lead to a lifetimes interest in the sport...you probably got hooked because of a superfight from the past?

I agree. Though I also find it annoying and I'm a casual fan! I guess the annoying bit is having people talk as if they know their shit when they really don't. A pub full or Facebook feed of those people can be pretty draining!

This place must be hell for you then mate;)
What really grinds my gears is the authority some people seem to think their opinions deserve, this place is rife for it.
99.9% of fans of any sport don't really know what they're talking about, and I happily include myself in that, but when you get the constant questioning and ridiculing of people who've been involved in the sport at the very highest level for decades it really is just laughable.

Oye I agree but it still winds me up when people on Facebook post " money money mayweather, told you lot" when these people don't watch the sport etc.

I saw that earlier, Nottingham have a got a weird obsession with pies and pasties, went out with a Notts bird a few years back...they're generally revolting.
(The pasties not the women)

:ROFLMAO: The contractors at work are from there and always go out to get a pie.

After an all nighter on the Vodka and Charlie the bird I was seeing popped out to get us breakfast, I was expecting a Maccies or a bacon roll and she strolled in munching on a fucking cold pasty, the smell of it literally made me sick.
That was the turning point in the relationship, couldn't look at her the same after that.

Fair play to Conor for not looking too out of place in a boxing ring. It kind of went as I expected just went longer than I thought. Conor fades after round 2 in UFC so this was actually progress for him. He hit that wall in round 9 after a fast flurry at the start of the round. You could tell the fight was over for him at that point. Mayweather played the fight perfect though. Stayed calm early on and weathered the storm by using his expert defence and drain Conor. I thought Mayweather was really tricky ducking his head a lot and letting McGregor take his back so the ref would separate them. He used his experience well.

I think it just shows why amateur boxers fight less rounds than professional boxers do. Conor needs to fight some more 9 round fights in boxing. Although I doubt we'll see him in boxing again. This was the big money fight but there's nothing else in boxing on that scale at his weight class. Any fight now would be a drop down in competition in the boxing ring. I think he will have earned a lot of respect from boxing and MMA fans alike. To challenge one of the GOAT in his world and get to round 10 (even if Mayweather allowed it to go that far) was impressive.

This for me was a good fight. Better that the Manny fight and better than a lot of other fights with Mayweather.

Connor looked massively out of place in a boxing ring. His technique was laughable and consisted of 99% arm punches with zero power. He was scared, with good reason. He simply isn't a boxer. Floyd carried him, he was old, yet he toyed with him and didn't get out of first gear.

You mention the Manny fight. Difference there was Floyd had a real threat so was in constant defensive mode. At no point against Connor was he taking that approach. He just went through the motions and in fact it's the first time in a decade I've seen Floyd walk someone down. He had zero resistance and nothing to worry about at all coming back at him. McGregors power in a boxing ring is non existent. Such a difference when you have face first square on wrestlers running at you, just willing to be hit on the chin eh?

Fair play to him but make no mistake, at no point was that fight remotely competitive. Should Connor continue his boxing career and face someone active, and his own weight...well, I genuinely fear for his safety. Someone like Canelo would seriously hurt him.
