Can't help thinking that the worry about members tickets being hard to get is a bit overstated - if there's an extra 26k seats in the stadium, surely tickets must get easier to buy....

If there's a load more people with St's, surely that means that they will have come out of the pile of people scrapping for members tickets...

Away games are a different story though...
Entirely agree. After the first few games, Cat B and Cs even going to general sale wouldn't surprise me. Cup semis/finals and away games are a big part of the reason to have a season ticket now.

What they'll cost on the other hand....

Even with the smaller allocation at WHL, if you're ready the day that tickets go on sale for home matches, even Lilywhite members have plenty of good seats available to them.

But, no, away matches are nearly impossible if you're starting at 0-50 LP right now.

But wll they revert to that system or will they keep the system they had for the last season at WHL, which was basically an open ballot of members who applied by a set date? Alternatively, they could also set a loyalty points threshold for each match?

I don't think so. I've accumulated 48 points thus far as a season ticket holder. With a few more home games I should get that over 50 - over 5 years that's 250 points as a season ticket holder. That's nowhere near enough for any away London derbies. Might get me to Stoke if I wanted to go anywhere near stoke. I doubt, with 40k season ticket holders they'd make it as far as bronze members anymore.

London derbies will presumably be an issue but I've been to Stoke away 4 times and never been anything more than a LW member. To be honest, I've been to a handful of other clubs around the north and never had trouble getting tickets through the official channels so as a bronze member you shouldn't have any trouble at all I wouldn't have thought, with the exceptions being the "bigger" games away at Liverpool, Man Utd etc.

That was with 20k season ticket holders. Now we have 42k, a higher corporate allocation, and higher demand than a few years ago partly thanks to the £30 cap. Not a single league away game has been available to new ST holders this season I.E. the demand could literally halve from what it is right now and members still wouldn't get a single game.

I'm not so sure, with more people who used to be members now being ST holders and the increased price of STs I imagine a lot of people who usually do a couple of away games will give some of the "lesser" northern trips a miss next year on account of having shelled out an extra 300-500 quid on their ST. The big-ticket trips like Utd etc. will be harder than ever to get for members but games like Stoke I reckon we might see a lot of the ST holders skipping now.
